Background

Kiron, also known as Cirontur in the Sindarin tongue, is one of the Noldor in Exile, though the Doom of Mandos lies not upon him.
Thlim Ecthel (House of the Fountain)
He was born in Beleriand amongst the people of Turgon during the High Days of Gondolin, and under his father-name of Orostámo took service in the House of the Fountain as a squire. Too young to serve in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, he was nevertheless present at the city's fall, caring for the wounded in the Square of the King, and later escaping with the Lord Tuor and the surviving Gondolindrim. Though amongst their number was not his father, who perished in the retreat from the Amon Gwareth, buying time for the Lord Ecthelion to pass up into the Square of the Fountain.
Memories of the Fall of Gondolin have left Kiron with an abiding hatred of the servants of Morgoth. Swift is his wrath kindled against orcs and goblin-folk, and long enduring.
Arvernien
He dwelt for a time in Arvernien, taking the after-name of Kiron in memory of the ancient Quenyan tongue and the hope of the ships at the Havens of the Sirion. For, he said: "The might of the Noldor is now chiefly in memory, and our future hope is in departing". He served as the master of one such ship, and took as his wife the maiden Lirulinis.
For a time, he abided with his wife in contentment, remaining with her in Beleriand when other captains set out in vain for the shores of Valinor. But in the Third Kinslaying by the Sons of Fëanor she perished, and Kiron drew no solace from having survived by patrolling the coast to the north. He returned to the ruin of his house and in those charred remains found nought but devastation and grief.
Long he wrestled with vengeance, desiring to pursue after those guilty of the kinslaying, but unsure of where they had gone. When anger dimmed, his heart turned to despair and he perceived no possibility for hope remained. He dwelt amongst the shattered ruin of Arvernien, a pale shadow, waning less and less substantial by the day.
Ohto Ormë (War of Wrath)
Then returned triumphant the Lord Earendil on the Bright Ship Vingilot, and with him the Host of the Valar, and Glórfindel, Lord of the House of the Golden Flower. In that hour, hope and flame kindled anew in Kiron's heart, till they became a roaring fire. He pledged again his service to Tuor's heir with many other awe-struck Eldar, and knew that the Valar had not abandoned the Elves, as it had first seemed, but that they had abandoned the Valar. On that day, "Valar valuvar" was renewed in meaning and strength for him.
Long has Kiron desired to depart for Valinor, to seek out his wife in the Halls of Mandos, but fealty to his lord Earendil, and later to Elrond has bound him to Middle Earth. He fought with the Host at the overthrow of Morgoth, and his sword sung true in service to Gil-Galad after the ending of Beleriand.
Attëa Randa (The Second Age)
Long he dwelt in Eregion, and protected the refugees of Mirabel in its fall, remembering his own fear as a child of Gondolin. Though his heart yearned for vengeance against Sauron, not least for his deception as Annatar, at his lord's command he abided in Lindon during the Last Alliance protecting the lands in surety of Gil-Galad's return.
But return, he did not, and in the fading years of the Eldar in Middle Earth, it was with Lord Elrond in Imladris that Kiron served.
Sinaurë (Today)
Kiron remains sworn to the protection of Imladris, but has fought across Eriador, and even on occasion in Rhovanion at his lord's command. As one of the few remaining Noldor, he has often wandered with the Company of Gildor Inglorion, abiding for many years in the haven of Meluinen.
Until such time as there is no need for his shield-arm he will linger here in Middle Earth awhile.
