Cathirion was born in Lothlórien in the year 3403 of the Second Age. His mother was a minstrel who sung songs of such beatuy and grace, his father a Warrior, an elf of great courage, strength and honour. As Cathirion grew, he ws given his second name; Laelithros, meaning "As Swift as the raging sea". Unfortuantly, he was not blessed with an entire family for long. His father, went with the Elves to the great battle in Mordor, before Mount Doom, his father was killed by a Orchish black arrow piercing his neck. He and his mother grieved greatly for him. His mother, then withdrew, and became a very solitary figure. Cathirion had to look after her as well as training his archery and skill with a sword. This made his life very busy, and nearly intolerable. After he reached his adulthood, he became a hunter, skilled in the ways of tracking and use with a bow. He even ambushed a small patrol of goblins from Moria, hiding in a tree, and felling them with his never failing aim. After a few hundred years more, Galadriel sent Cathirion to Eriador, to help to quell the ever growing shadow in the east.
