| Outward Appearance | A young Dúnadan still in training as a Ranger. Like many of his kin he stands tall, with locks of dark hair and pale skin, yet his eyes are hopeful and gleam with a dark green hue. His smile is gentle and warm, and his voice is friendly and kind. He clothes himself in simple leathers and woodland green cloths, a long swordsman's coat exaggerating his already tall features. He often wears one of two cloaks, of dark green or brown waxed wool, each with a deep hood that overshadows his face when raised. Upon his back is a leather quiver stocked with handcrafted and fletched arrows, alongside a simple but sturdy recurved hunting bow. And at his hip is sheathed a well-maintained arming sword. Strangely, a rather shiny and pretty ring is on his finger, curiously smithed and shaped like intertwining branches and roots.

Background
A young and promising member of what few Dúnedain youths remain in the North, Farion was raised to follow the Rangers beliefs of defending the north-lands from the shadow wherever they appear, even should the people under their protection be unappreciative.
His boundless optimism and kind nature mirrored by the typical rugged appearance of a Ranger afforded him the moniker of "Alderwood", comparing him to a swampish tree that is very resilient to rot and decay.
On September 22nd 3018, as Farion was hunting game for his fellow Rangers stationed at Sarn Ford, tragedy would strike. The Nazgûl would attack in the evening in their attempt to cross into the Shire. The enemy tore across the river, cutting down several Rangers, Farion's father Faradîn among them. The few that survived were scattered, but Farion knew word had to be spread of this attack, and took it upon himself to journey to Esteldin with the news.
After taking the time to grieve with his mother and their fellow Rangers, Farion returned to his studies and training with renewed drive to continue his people's mission and honour the memory of his father. He travelled from camp to camp across the north of Eriador, learning what he could from more experienced Rangers and assisting in their duties until he was considered ready to undertake his own patrols.
Along the way, he encountered a Bree-Lander that found herself captured by Orcs. With fortune smiling upon him, Farion rescued the woman, who revealed herself as Luminora Ward, an aspiring Bard that had just begun her own wishful journey to explore beyond her homeland. Seeing the safety in travelling together, the two agreed to journey with each other until one of them decided they had seen enough.
Now, Farion follows Luminora in her explorations of Eriador, protecting and guiding her on the roads and through the wilds, while hoping to continue his own learnings and live up to the expectations of a Dúnedain Ranger.
