Background
After the dragon Smaug has been defeated and Five Armies clashed, the Free Peoples were victorius. Great city of Dale awaited to be restored and so it was, under kings descending from Bard the Bowman - namely Bain and Brand. Kingdom reborn gathered Northmen from the Long Lake and other lands and welcomed all manner of artisans and craftsmen that would offer their services to the realm. Among them was Elfridd's father, a Man of rohirric origin and a blacksmith by trade that travelled to Laketown and later Dale itself, earning a good coin as he took part in equipping newly founded city guard. Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain also aided, teaching Men those metods of working with metals that could be transferred between Peoples and Dalish craftsmanship flourished.
Finally, rohirric smith Wynstand marrier a member of the Dalish guard, Ailred, who resembled to him shieldmaidens of Rohan's culture and tales. A child was born from their union, a child that got sick and owns his life and name to Elves of Thranduil's realm - for the fever was cured by Silvan Elf visting Laketown one day since that day the child has been called Elfridd, calmed-by-elves.
Elfridd grew in enviroment where Northem, Dwarven and Elvish cultures influenced each other. As a child filled with curiosity he was eager to learn about other Free Peoples, their kingdoms and ways, and soon discovered there are many dangers lurking in the shadows that may pray upon anyone unlucky enough. Thanks to his mother's background in the guard he tried to learn how to defend not only himself, but also others, knowing that too many good people cannot proctect themselves against harm. Not only a love for foreign songs, poetry and history that world has to offer made him leave kingdom of Dale - a realm suffered under Easterling attack in the final days of the War of the Ring and both Dwarves of Erebor and Bardings needed resources and allies, for threats of other kinds remained. Worshippers of the Dark Lord still dwelled in vast plains of Rhun and were numerous - only knowledge gathered from other Free Peoples could assist Dale in the times to come.
As a guard of a dwarven caravan Elfridd reached Eriador, a place that was once part of Arnor, northern kingdom of Numenoreans. Even after defeating Sauron those lands needed their time to heal and hard work of their inhabitants to keep them safe.
