Background
Whindaer is an elf young of body and mind, with a determined mindset and kind humour. She has a just heart, and does not take lightly to uncalled-for remarks and snide behaviour. Over the years she has learned to reign in her fiery temperament, gift of her part-Noldorin blood, and uses it to guide her blades and arrows in battle instead. Over-the-top pride and arrogance is something she greatly disapproves of, preaching humbleness and mutual respect between all the Free Peoples. Greatly influenced by the teachings of her late mentor Seifor, she dreams of a day when all Edhellim stands united under one banner, although knowing well that it will probably never come to pass.
A seasoned traveler who has had many dealings with Dwarves and Men, she holds great respect in the settlements off the beaten tracks of Eriador, especially the rangers whom she has aided many times. She is a hunter by trade, wargs are her sworn enemy and they flee before her. In times of peace she enjoys simple pastimes, like the playing of music, the tending of growing things and woodcrafts. She also loves horses and has spent many a day and late night discussing their tending with the keeper in the stables of Imladris.
Whindaer's ancestry is one of mixed origin. Her father was a Noldo, a simple blacksmith of Eregion who fled to Edhellond when the realm collapsed after the Dark Lord's first assault upon the elves. Her mother hailed from Mirkwood, but had moved to Lindon to pursue a career as a warden. She followed Celeborn and Galadriel as they traveled east during the Second Age, but turned south after passing the mountains, for she could not bear to remain far from the Sea, which she always loved. Whindaer was born in Edhellond, and had just reached maturity when her parents passed West.
Despite her young age, Whindaer has seen much of battle and the loss of loved ones, the most important being her family, her mentor and her late spouse. Lately she has taken leave from war, after an ambush in southern Mirkwood which she would not have survived were it not for a scouting party of Malledhrim. She has retreated from the war for a while to rest and shake off the looming Shadow, mainly by lightening the hearts of others through music.
