Background
Clindor was born in Esgaroth, also known as Lake-town, as the son of a flirtatious bard and a naive young noblewoman. His mother, who had eloped with his father, was hiding in Lake-town to escape her noble family. However, years later, her family tracked them down and set their house ablaze, resulting in her death on the spot. Clindor’s father, taking his son with him, fled the town and embarked on a journey that ended in Mirkwood.
In Mirkwood, Clindor’s father became known among the elves as "Sorrowwire" due to the mournful songs he sang. Even after leaving the forest, he continued to use this nickname, carrying the weight of his sorrow wherever he went. However, their life on the run came to a tragic end when, before reaching Bree—their hoped-for sanctuary—they were attacked by bandits. During the attack, Clindor’s father was killed, leaving the boy to find shelter in Bree with a small group of survivors.
The innkeeper of The Prancing Pony, moved by the plight of the young boy, took Clindor under his care. With nothing but his father’s lute in hand, Clindor began playing the simple tunes he had been taught, earning a bit of pocket money. Over time, as his skills grew, he gained renown as the inn’s resident bard.
With his signature goatee, long tied-back hair, and colorful attire, Clindor created a striking persona that drew as much attention as his music. His presence became an integral part of the inn’s lively atmosphere.
Yet, despite all the marvel surrounding him, Clindor vanished one day without a word. No one knows where he is now. Perhaps he wandered so far from home that even those who once remembered him have now forgotten.
