Nothing is really much know about Dorvarun

Second age:
 
After the War of Wrath, Dorvarun declined to depart Middle-earth as many others did, and instead went over the Blue Mountains with her household. She eventually ended up in Greenwood the Great, where Silvan Elves of Nandorin descent lived.

When Sauron returned to Middle-earth from the Downfall of Numenor and began to grow in power, Oropher's folk which Dorvarun was part of retreated north of the old Dwarf-Road, and later again north of the Mountains of Mirkwood, where they fortified themselves.

In the Battle of Dagorlad, Dorvarun refused to obey Oropher's order because she knew it would be a massive suicide, and she was right. Oropher's company fought valiantly but Oropher's was slain with the greater part of his people when he, with King Amdir and his warriors, called an early charge upon the enemy, without orders from the Noldorin High-King Gil-galad.

After Sauron was defeated, Dorvarun joined sides with Thranduil. Thranduil was Oropher's son and heir,  they decided  to return  with shattered remnants of the formerly grand army of they people, back north.

Third age:

Thranduil led the elven forces in the Battle of the Five Armies. His army was position on the southern side of the Mountain, and Dorvarun has led the first assult on the enemy.

During the War of the Ring, Thranduil sent his son Legolas and his most trusted General Dorvarun to Rivendell, along with other Elves, to report Gollum's escape from Mirkwood.

After the meeting, she returned home reporting on everything that happend, and why Legolas is not with her.

As of now, she deals with all the evil that has settle in Mirkwood, full filing Thranduil's orders, as she is his right hand man (general), or I should say woman.
