Born sometime in the First Age Ariquis as he is now known was part of the House of the Wing under Tuor. When the great hidden city of Gondlindrim fell Ariquis was there among the brethren of his house and they fought alongside the House of the Fountain trying to keep the walls secure. The House of the Wing was never numerous and so by the time Tuor did retreat from the great battle very few of their house remained. Ever loyal to the lord of his house Ariquis did stay with Tuor and his wife Idril, he even boarded the ship with them when it came for them to depart for Valinor. 

But that is where the fate of this ellon took an unexpected change in heading. For as their ship emerged from the mists which cloak Valinor did  Ariquis feel uneasy. They came into the docks where their hosts in their new land did wait for them with gentle smiles upon their faces. One by one the passengers of the Alallam did depart the ship following in the wake of their Lord and his wife. Then only one of the House of the Wing remained. Ariquis and his lord exchanged glances and then with a gentle nod of his head did Tuor acknowledge that Ariquis had his leave to remain on board. 

And so that is the tale of how Ariquis had set eyes upon Valinor but in that briefest of moment chose to remain at sea. Following on Ariquis learned the song of the sea serving on the Alallam as one of the crew sailing between the Grey Havens and Valinor.

In the time of the fellowship Ariquis can be found traversing the lands most call Middle Earth. He never stays in one place longer than another, it is almost as though something is driving him ever onward and he is not oft to speak about it should any enquire.
