"As to the sea and the wind we are wed
Raise the sails - Full speed ahead
When we heed the Ocean's call that we cannot forget
We sail on, into the red sunset"
Of late Ñoldorin and Falathrim heritage, Hwethlenn was born in Edhellond.
Her childhood was peaceful, growing up at the coast and in the ways of the Shipwrights to which her father counted himself. The Ocean fascinated her from the first moment she saw the great water that parted lands and worlds from one another, ever in movement with gentle, sometimes wild waves.
The rather quiet girl tried to equal herself often with her father and learned his trait, that of a sailor and knight. With sword to sea and lance to horse she made her beginnings to defend the coasts of Edhellond.

Eventually Hwethlenn was sent north to Lindon by her father's wish, where she joined the Mithdirith and undertook lessons in good behavior, combat and comradeship. Istuir was to be her lord, who proved to be an efficient but harsh teacher.
During her time among the watch as recruit, Hwethlenn befriended especially Alfiriel and Hallothel, two maidens who already had acquired their rank and uniform. Despite that Hwethlenn failed more than once, even though she gained help, let her tire until the won experience and the training paid off and the first battle called.

The life of a squire, a pupil continued and the wear and tear became visible on the young maiden. Nevertheless, her lord always motivated her to keep at her task and to leave no thought to the possibility of surrendering. In time, the small cheeky Sea-Elven girl from Edhellond became more and more hardy, disciplined and an expert with handling the lance from the saddle out, as well as firing like few others with the crossbow.

Having proven her qualities under Master Istuir for a long time, she was finally granted the attire and rank of a Knight-Warden, including all rights, duties and burdens that from now on would ever be a companion on her way. Hwethlenn's father granted his daughter land in Lindon, where she now intends to grow flax so that some day it may be used for the sails of the great ships of Mithlond.
