| Outward Appearance | Appearance Before you stands a Shield-Maiden of Rohan. Piercing blue eyes stare at you from behind a steel helm, adorned with the black mane of a Rohirric steed. One flaxen braid lays across her shoulder, contrasting the rich green of the cloak that frames the breast-plate and mail which glints beneath. Her skin is pale and cold to the touch, but her smile brings enough warmth to counter it. Her speech is strong yet elegant in her native tongue, matching the style she fights in. Both in peaceful dealings and the heat of combat, she is a sight to behold; beautiful at the very least. She is Heahclif the Shunned of Snowbourn. Personality Heahclif is both fiery and calm, cheerful and sorrowful. She fills a room with warmth at her presence, but when angered she has an untamable wrath. Among her kin she is most comfortable, and watches in admiration when in the presence of Rohirric Riders. However. she is shy when around strangers, and does not speak much, having limited skill in the tongue of the West. Having been told what she could not do all her life, Heahclif strives to fulfill her dreams, being not only a very positive influence, but a person of great determination and resolve. She is strong of heart, and fragile in no way. Even when lost in foreign parts she carries herself with pride, and dignity, with the knowledge of who she is. |

Background
Heahclif was born in Edoras, the capital of Rohan, to two Riders of the Rohirrim. Her parents had joined the ranks at very young ages, and were courageous and fearless on the field of battle. They encouraged her to follow in their footsteps, but allowed her the freedom to choose whatever fate she wished.
Unlike them, Heahclif's aunt, Morvilda, held ideals much closer to that of Heahclif's grandparents. Very traditional, with the mindset that there was no room for women on the field of battle, and that their place was on the homestead. This, in combination with her infertility and thus her jealousy for her sister, Morvilda took Heahclif from her home one night and brought her into one of the watch towers near the height of Edoras. Hoping to spare the infant Heahclif from a fate of unwomanly combat, and punish her sister, she cast the babe off the tower and into the night, but not before being found out by the child's parents. With shock, anguish, and anger, the father ran Morvilda through with his blade before running to call the guard.
In haste the couple found the babe, to their astonishment, laying unharmed on a bank of grass, having landed against the slope of a green hill and sliding to where she rested. It was then that her name was changed. The High Cliff from where she fell became her namesake, as it was there that her strength and warrior spirit first came to light.
Sadly, at the age of ten, Heahclif's parents were killed in a skirmish with Dunlendings near the Gap of Rohan, and she was left orphaned. Without anyone else, the child was taken to live with her grandparents in Snowbourn who, as aforementioned, disagreed with the idea of Shield-Maidens whole-heartedly. Without any choice, Heahclif was thus taken into their care and was raised as a proper woman, but unbeknownst to them, she oft crept from the homestead late at night to roam the fields on her horse, and train in the art of war, fashioning bows and spears of her own.
Eventually, when it came time for her to marry and create a household of her own, Heahclif's 'rebellious nature' was discovered, and being rejected by her grandparents, she fled from the Mark, not knowing where to go.
Thinking that she would find no welcome amongst her kin, she raced West to Breeland upon her steed, carrying only the clothes on her back and some meager scraps of food.
