Outward Appearance

Appearance: Before you, a man stands in all his grandness - A tall figure of 6'9, quite the giant, some may think. He is slender, yet has a muscular build. His eyes are a pale green, while his skin is pale - An odd color that would hint at the lack of sunlight, he would commonly be draped in black, or grey, clothing, leather and cloth - A hood, which would cover the top hemisphere of his head, while a mask would hide the rest. His clothing would seem rather tight-fitting, else simply layered in such a way.

Background

A bastion of complete and utter justice, Aresthir could be described as cruel; for often he puts an end to a life that he has deemed unworthy of living - traitors, bandits, and any other wrong doers. His means were always direct, and his personality was strong: little, he thinks of consequences - death meant nothing to him, and so he had reached a point of absolute justice.

Standing at six foot nine, one would expect this ranger to be easy to see - however, he is rarely spotted. Spending his time away from civilisation, Aresthir was a survivalist who loved the wild. Though, from time to time, he can be found in cities, or towns, he prefers to avoid such places. Aresthir was one of the few-remaining Northern Dúnedain - those with the purest remnants of Númenórean blood.

Aged much older, in truth, than he may appear to be - Aresthir has a great deal of experience in the field of battle, and killing bandits. His life has been devoted to the hunting, and slaying, of bandits, orcs, rogue-goblin packs, and the like - he wishes to help prevent such foul beings from progressing their cruel ends.

Born as son to Ternimbril and Berena, Aresthir's life was rather joyful at first, till his father fell in a raid on a small camp of bandits, with his mother later succumbing to illness. He spent the rest of his young life as ward to Galris.

Galris was a kind, soft-hearted man, whom believed in absolute justice. He had no sense of mercy, and this is reflected in Aresthir. He, Galris, was loving to those of good-nature, but hateful to those of bad-nature. From him, Aresthir learnt much: how to speak in Elvish -- that is: sindarin and quenya -- how to use nature to his advantage, and how to track creatures with greater skill. Galris later died at the old age of one-hundred-and-eighty-one.

By this point, Aresthir had already slain a great number of orcs, and foul men. He was making a grand name for himself; that is - only for himself. He did not wish to be known, just as any other of his kind, but to know that he was helping others gave him comfort. His name meant much to him, if very little to anyone else.

With little else happening in his life other than the hunting and killing of foul beings, Aresthir has grown to be stern in his views; mercy is not for wrong-doers. He has also, however, grown loving, kind, and friendly with those that aren't of such dark means - though he will rarely forgive someone for any action that they have done, which he deems to be wrong.

"The good things one does, may never wash out the bad. Nor may the bad wash out the good; such is justice. Ever on, shall I search for those whom have, or seek to, cause harm in this world - and ever on, shall I remain unbiased in the face of justice. Mercy is not for the cruel, and cruelty is not for the merciful. Innocence is tainted, and it shall one day be cleansed."
