| Outward Appearance | This Noldo conducts himself with a straight gait, swathed in a myriad of simple fabrics that bear old heraldry. They seem to be not his own; they are artifacts unto themselves, delicate to the touch and fair on the eyes. Such clothes are often simple, but date back to the First Age. Those devices that adorn his clothes most often are beloved to the Noldorin. Many depictions of the past adorn his gowns, but he cherishes one wrap over the rest, a light bolt of cloth with a tapestry of three beautiful jewels sown upon it. These are known as the Golodhvir, or the Silmarils. At times when his mind is not so distant, one might see the embers of the Noldor spirit within him, shown in his proud composure, and in his sorrows from the past.
Orodar bears a set of sepulchral grey eyes. Long strands of raven black hair fall to his shoulders and down to his back, though they are maintained well so that they do not reach an unwanted length. His interest lies in the study of lore, especially in tales that can be written and made part of his collection. Long has he lamented upon the curse of Fëanor and the fall of Gil-galad.
Often he can be found with old books and scriptures, and more often than not he wanders the haven of Imladris with nowhere to go in particular. If anything at all is spoken of the secretive figure, It is often said of him that he wanders as is his wont, amongst waterfalls and boughs. |

Background
Essë
Essi: Gollind (W: Wise Thought, Q: Nólorë)
Amilessë: Thonor (W: Pine Flame, Q: Sáninar)
Epessë: Orodar (W: Mountain-lord, Q: Orontaron)
Born in the First Age as Gollind, the young Elf was raised up to age for a time, though records of this time are not kept. It is known that he was a direct participant in the Third Kinslaying. Again, such things are not talked about. No record of Gollind exists up until his appearance in S.A. 750, participating in the foundation of the realm of Eregion and the construction of Ost-in-Edhil. It is said that at this time he went by the Epessë of Orodar, revelling in the crafts of the Gwaith-i-Mírdain. Although he was never to hold a hammer, the works made by Noldo craftsmen at this time fascinated him. Most of his time was spent in thought, or over the scriptures of old, learning lore that had been scribed in ages past. However, his time in Eregion did not last.
In S.A. 1697, Eregion was beset upon by the forces of Sauron, whom had come to the region in anger, his attempts at taking the three Elven Rings of Power having been denied. Upon his back marched a great host of evil men, orcs, and other creatures. These dark forces sacked the city of Ost-in-Edhil, driving the Noldorin there away. Orodar heard not of this until he came upon the haven of Imladris. There he became learned to the accounts of the survivors. This valley became his home, for it was the refuge of his people. In his sorrow over the events that had transpired, he left alone for the shaws and lived in the mountains for a time. Here he learnt much of the land, and practiced his eye for aesthetics. However, as ages passed it became so that he could not remain in exile for much longer.
In S.A. 3430, the young aesthete left his home to give what he could to the host of the Last Alliance. His knowledge of craftsmanship allowed him to be of some use during the three years that the warhost sat in Imladris. He gave direction to the smiths there, creating weapons and armour for use against the forces of the enemy. It would come to pass that he would not march alongside the host, and he speaks not often of his participation in these events, for they are sorrowful indeed.
In recent years, he has wandered from haven to haven, though he makes frequent passages to Imladris. It is the land which he considers his home, though he does not reside there.
