Koltho was born on September twentieth in Tuckborough of the Shire. His parents were Guldo and Edina Took (his father was a Took and his mother a Bracegirdle). Koltho was born a Took, and well Tooks were often "different". Koltho grew up somewhat normally though, developing an unbreakable love for music and songs. However, this also grew a love for adventure. Koltho had heard of Bilbo Baggins's adventure and he fantasized about one of his own. He would enact mock battles with Smaug the Great and pretend to go adventuring in far away places. Many of his neighbors thought him curious and odd; not very common or likable traits in a hobbit when asked of other hobbits. Koltho did not mind one bit and two years after his coming of age, Koltho set off to Bree, finally seeking an adventure of his own.
