The Bancross Mystery: A Winter's Hunt. Part Two.

Heartha had already scouted out the area agreed upon, when the others arrived. She had found very few signs of boar, even there. The hilly woodlands to the east of Bancross were usually teeming with wild boar. Why was there such a shortage this year? The hunting party may yet have to rely on the results of fishing, or possibly a moose or two, to fill the mouths of their folk, she mused.

((neatly penned in Lumi-kieli))

Today is too lovely a day to stay in, though B might want me to, but the sun is bright and the air is warm. Not that it has ever been cold, but after a year away from Lumi-mâ I wonder if I have acclimated and would find even summer there too chilling and winter impossible to bear, like some etelä-vieras.

At long last the two parties were prepared to depart. Addiela, Finchley, Ryn and Nethrida were bound for Bree and a meeting with the dwarves, while Eduwiges, Xanderian, Calidis and Ellsabeth rode Arnach to seek the freedom of Daedre, so that Edu could learn more of her past. Xandilif had departed the night before on a mission of her own, and Nimlindir and Aliandith remained behind to see to the Island.

The dark-clad figure moved with surprising grace, in absolute silence. Scaling first one hedge, then another while barely disturbing the delicate flowers that adorned them, the figure avoided the occasional pool of torchlight that aided the moon, climbing from tree to tree. Black cloak wrapped tight, the figure dropped down behind one of the sentries of Lothlorien unnoticed. An arm around the elf’s throat, an inescapable pressure, and the sentry went limp, to be hidden at the base of the hedge.

By thine uncaring gaze ignore the winter weeping. Dreading.

By thine unspoken word observe the venom seeping. Spreading.
