I growled to myself in anger as I relentlessly slashed the tree before me back and forth, not caring about it, nor paying attention.
I was saddened, burdened, due to the handful of work I was handling that was Minyelaírë. I sighed slowly, running out of the ruins, to slay some boar, thoughtful of my argument with Minyelaírë;
"Why try to confront an enemy that is ten times greater than thee?" She said, smirking at my rather mournful form, "He would slay thee and leave thy body there and laugh three times at it."
I screwed my face up in anger and hurt; Minyelaírë did not know what it felt like to lose home, but I sighed: What use was it to turn Minyelaírë's comments back at her? She would just laugh it off and smirk. Oh well, such is my sister, who I often find a sharp fang.
"I still hold grudge against him for destroying my home and slaying my friends." I said lowly, Minyelaírë shook her head.
"You should not care about the war, sister. If you ignore him, he shall not mind you. The Kinn-lai ignored him and he ignored us."
I hissed, fighting to keep myself from retiliating in anger. Ignore him?! How am I supposed to ignore him when he took that which was precious from me?! Dear dear Minyelaírë, now you are just being silly.
After telling her that I was hurt that she did not understand, she turned her back to me, slightly offended and saying, "Oh, so I do not understand, for I am an Avar. A wild beast..."
Regret flew through me as she said, "Come, Radbug." Though I knew that she was being ridiculous for thinking I could just let my grudge against the Dark Lord go. Still ridiculous. I thought seethingly.
I knew she underestimated my capabilities, but I also new that I was younger than her by a few thousand years. She had more experience in combat than I had. She had gotten out of tighter situations.
After hurriedly apologizing I let her sleep, and jumped down the ruins, like a wild elf, to vent out my anger at the tree before me, burdened and saddened at the numerous hardships that prevented our journey to Harad from taking root.
I ran out of the ruin after a few moments of slashing, and went out to kill some boar. After returning, I was laden with two boars, my anger enough to prevent me from stumbling under the weight of the two boars.
I hurriedly dropped them to Minyelaírë, and quietly called to Radbug: "Here is some meat, if you are hungry, Radbug."
The warg immediately stood up, leaving Minyelaírë growing as she realized her blanket was gone, and I smirked cheekily, "I apologize."
I could hear her mumble a "Not needed." Before she closed her eyes once more, feeling with her hands before she grabbed one of Vardarianna's dressed and tossing it over herself.
I looked at Radbug, contentedly chewing the boar meat I brought, and sat in the corner, remembering;
"Radbug saved thy life," Minyelaírë said, Radbug at her feet, "Is that the servant of your enemy?"
I shook my head, smiling, before I hesitantly extended my hand towards the warg's head, my fingers twitching slightly as I patted the warg.
The fur was delicate, yet coarse, at the same time. Minyelarírë smiled as Radbug peered up at me, his fangs slightly bared. However, I ignored the bared fangs, and quietly whispered;
"Thank you, for saving my life."
The warg's ears twitched forward, and the fangs disappeared. Slowly, his slimy tongue came up to me, and licked my chin, before he strolled of to rest. Minyelaírë burst out laughing as I blinked.
"I hope it was to thy delight!" She chuckled. I grimaced, but smiled as well.
As I dozed off, I thought about Minyelaírë's ways of combat. I was curious. I wished to train with her. I could show her my ways, and she could show me hers.
The already asleep Minyelaírë was peacefully resting as I attempted to wake her up. Not wishing to disturb her, I simply said, "Loteriel."
"Zzzz..." Was the response, I raised my voice, "Loteriel!"
"Zzzz Zzzz.... - What?" Minyelaírë woke up, and I steadily said to her:
"I wish to train with you."
"I do no train any Elves or other beings." She scorned at me. I gritted my teeth.
"I insist." I said, "I wish to be better prepared for anything that descends upon us."
"Fine fine. But tomorrow." Half-asleep she dozed off again, and I, with a satisfied smile, looked at her before sighing. I laid my cloak over her, and took a piece of parchment and a quill out of my pack. I slowly wrote;
I will go out for a while. I shall see you tomorrow!"
(I will go out for a while. I shall see you tomorrow!)
I placed the note beside her, before I ran out of the ruins. Tyelepoma needed the antidote. I would be going to find the Uilos, the herb that could cure his ailment.
I spent some hours searching the Vale, even as far as Eregion, for I knew that the herb could be found in here (it was rare though) before I finally spotted one on a cliff. However, I was concerned; How do I get up on the cliff?
I shrugged, and ascended the rocks. The cliff was not very high, and soon I found myself on the top, triumphantly holding the Uilos. The next thing I needed was water from the Bruinen. It is said that Uilos brewed from the water of the Bruinen would rejuvinate life, and I scooped up some water, killing a few foul worms in the process, before I mashed the Uilos into the bowl and brewed the antidote.
Standing up, I sighed. Now I had to get the bottled phial to Tyelepoma quickly. I grimaced, looking around, before something blocked my vision in a fit of feathers. Scowling and coughing, the feathery thing left my face, but I realized it had taken my phial with it.
"Oi!" I yelled as a blackish-brown hawk took flight before me, the phial dangling from it's leg. I ran after it, turning to the right, and the hawk turned and flew straight at me. I ducked, but I realized it had latched itself onto my hair.
"Gah - Urg - Stop - it!" I screeched, clawing at my hair and attempting to swat at the hawk. A small screech and the sound of a phial dropping to the soft grass made me know that I had managed to hit the hawk somewhere. It's grip loosened on my hair and a dull thud told me that it had dropped to the floor. In horror I turned behind me, and saw the hawk on the ground, now sporting an injured wing, and In regret, I picked the hawk up. It screeched faintly, before it's hate-filled eyes turned to me fiercely, and it attempted to take flight. However, as soon as it was in the air, there was a dull splash, and the hawk dropped into the river. I ran into the river, knee-height, as I rescued the poor animal from drowning.
The thing was unconscious, but I thought bitterly; It was his fault he decided to take the antidote. However, I was overcome with guilt at knowing I injured it. I swiftly made camp at the site where I was ambushed by it, and neatly bandaged it's wing and left it to rest, making a makeshift nest for it out of some unused cloth that I carried, watching it with my dark blue eyes.
The Hawk screeched and woke up after a few moments which I spent resting, and I stood up, taking a bit of waybread from my pack, and offered it to the hawk. The hawk, now more curious than angry as he surveyed his bandaged Wing, took the waybread, his eyes filled with suspicion, and he bit me with his beak slightly.
"Ow." I shook my hand, laughing. The hawk looked at me curiously, trying to discern my thoughts, but instead, I offered my finger. It hopped slowly to me, and started nibbling at my finger.
"I wonder why you wanted the Phial." I said. The Phial! I looked around in alarm, and groaned as I realized I had left it lying in the grass, discarded, as I went to the river to save the hawk. In anger, I drew my sword and drove it into the ground next to me, hissing. The hawk screeched, before it, to my surprise, took off, seemingly managing the bandaged wing.
"What--" I trailed off. I craned my neck, searching for the hawk, before it came back, the Phial dangling from the leg once more.
"Oh... thank you." I said, as the Hawk flew over me and dropped the Phial into my cupped hands. The hawk was a friendlier now, surveying me with keen eyes, before I snapped my head up, an idea forming in my head.
"Hmmm... how would you like to deliver this phial to Tyelepoma Glingaedo, Caun of the Vanimar. The hawk surveyed me with it's bright orangey eyes once more, and seemingly nodded. It flew to my arm and I stroked it's head affectionately.
"Mercandur, I shall call you from now on," I said, taking my quill and a piece of Parchment out of my bags, like before. I quickly scribbled a note to Tyelepoma.
"Tyelepoma,
Do not question this phial's origins, nor be filled with suspicion! Drink it, and it shall cure your ailment! Make haste, before you run out of time!"
I left it without signature, for I did not wish for Tyelepoma to discover who left this phial. I attached it to the phial with a piece of sturdy thread, and attached the phial to Mercandur's leg.
Screeching, Mercandur took off into the sunset, the phial gleaming in the light, as I watched from my camp, looking at the hawk with wonder.
(Some few days later, the Hawk managed to safely deliver the phial to Tyelepoma, and set off, to return to his now friend and mistress Daerundros)
((OOC: Minyelaírë gets a warg, Daerundros gets a Hawk, lol! xD))
