17th Annual Grand Elven Ball Menu



As the tradition has it, we have specialities from many Elven areas; Lindon and Imladris with the special focus on Lothlórien for the theme of this year's Ball. The food is cooked by Telpenaro of Nargothrond, a passionate farmer and a chef.

Guests will find a selection of food on the tables, free for them to take.

 

Welcome Cup

 

 ⚜ Blueberry mulled wine: Made with blueberry juice, red wine, vánillë, cinnamon, anise, cardamon and Mallorn honey.

 

Appetizers

 

 ⚜ Bread, spreads and cheese: Fresh, still warm selection of bread from the oven. Butter, herbed sour cream, paté, thin cuts of venison and a large variety of cheese for topping choices.


 ⚜ Salmon roses: Salt cured and beet dyed salmon in thin slices, set in a floral shape on a bread with salmon caviar, herbal cream cheese, chives and leaves cut from cucumber.


 ⚜ Oysters of Lindon: Oysters imported from the divers of Lindon, brought alive to Rivendell with a great care.

 

 ⚜ Sausage: Choice cuts of meat prepared into flavourful sausages according to the recipe of Hír Daegond.

 

 ⚜ Soup: Warming salmon soup with leek, potatoes, carrots, parsnip, cream, bay leaf, allspice and fresh dill.

 

Main Course

 

 ⚜ Meat: Baked venison pinwheels first cut in thin sheets, then rolled with cream cheese, caramelized onion, rosemary, juniper and pepper. Braised boar first grilled and caramelized, then simmered tender in a broth. With red wine, celery, onion, garlic and bay leaves.


 ⚜ Fish: Pan fried carp with breadcrumbs, pepper and lemon juice.


 ⚜ Shellfish: Stew with blue mussels and shrimps, olive oil, white wine, saffron, tarragon, pepper, peas and barley.


 ⚜ Poultry: Roast pheasant with red wine, honey, thyme and juniper berries

 

 ⚜ Wild mushroom lasagne: With pasta sheets, layers of white sauce, flavourful blend of cheese, porcini, chanterelles, truffle, basil, parsley, thyme, onions and spinach.

 

Side Dishes

 

 ⚜ Salad: Green salad with lettuce, fennel, pear, alfalfa sprouts, basil, mint and capers.


 ⚜ Salad dressing: Made with yogurt, olive oil, garlic and lemon.


 ⚜ Roasted chestnuts: Roasted on a fire.


 ⚜ Fruit: Selection of fresh fruit from Telpenaro's greenhouse, including melon wedges.

 

 ⚜ Roasted vegetables: Tiny corn cobs, carrots, snap peas and shallots.

 

Drinks

 

 ⚜ Galadhrim Miruvor: Fermented from Mallorn honey and blossoms, niphredil and elanor.

 

 ⚜ Wine: From Limael's and Dorwinion vinyards, as well as the Fanyamar Estate – including sparkling wine.

 

 ⚜ Ale: A selection of ales and mead from the Shire and Thorin's Hall.

 

Dessert


 ⚜ Mallorn honey cookies: Chewy, baked with real mallorn honey, butter and vánillë. Coated with chopped pistachio.

 

 ⚜ Rosewater bites: Powdered confections made of finest rosewater, set in delightfully rose coloured marmalade pieces.

 

 ⚜ Giant cake: Losselícuma Fainuidholo (Snow Candle of Fanuidhol)

Ball Cake of 2025

Built on a base of chocolate and biscuits, this cream puff tower is shaped like a lantern made of snowballs and snowflakes. The filling of cream puffs with royal icing has a creamy filling with swirls of rich chocolate and fresh peppermint throughout. From the inside the cake is decorated with Mallorn leaves and set with a candle.
