Reaquainting ourselves with Home

We did little in those first few days. We slept a lot. Parnard slept a lot that we saw him less frequently than usual, but Marawendi brought word he was still eating and drinking.

Baths were in order. I had quite a few before I felt totally clean again. Even so, there was the fainest of hints of something unnatural 'lingering'?  A sense of being watched that no amount of water would wash away.

Others came to see us. Individually, so not to weary us. But it was a joy to see and speak with each of our small 'family' at Numenstaya in turn.

And Estarfin and I walked the bounds together, fully appreciating the walls the Dwarves had built for us. Of course there was far more work to do, but the main fortification was complete. We spent much time down by the small lake and waterfall. It was a place we both found great beauty in, especially under the stars. We spent time with the horses, for my part, and Estarfin's I believe, it was a joy to be with Pelorian again.

We started something we had never done together before, observing the birds and other creatures that dwelt on the land. It was something I had done as a child, and throughout my life I had a strong connection to the feathered ones. But we both walked out, and called to them, as I tried to teach my beloved some of the art. After all, one never knows when an eagle or a wren may be of assistance.
