Bethlan raises Jedley as best as she can. She goes out stealing to feed themselves.
Bethlan is caught stealing from Newbold Leafcutter. Out of pity and as repayment of her crime, he takes her on as an errand runner to earn coin honestly. Newbold also tutors her in literacy.

Bethlan ends up in the "wrong crowd". She continues to steal, moreso for the thrill.
July: Leafcutter finds out about Bethlan's wrongdoings and sacks her.

Bethlan has had enough of her ways and wants to change. She convinces a tinker in Bree to take her on as an apprentice and learns the art of jewellery crafting, and the creation and repairing of small metal items. She ditches her "friends" and looks to helping her father get over his grief.

May: Bethlan moves out of the family home and rents a room in Bree. She visits her family whenever she can, especially to check on Jedley.

Bethlan lands a generous wedding ring commission from a Gondorian noble, allowing her to buy a large home.
Business slows down. Bethlan takes a job in the Prancing Pony.
Brock Thorne, Bethlan's father, passes away.
Bethlan suffers from a fever and is bedridden for weeks. Once recovered, she sells her home to pay the bills and takes a job with the Eagle Guard as a cook.
Bethlan leaves her job with the Eagle Guard and continues to pursue work in the tinkering trade.
