The Apex and his prey

The growl almost seemed to echo inside the small room, followed by the click of the shears trimming the line close to the flesh. Not so gentle hands went to work to begin medicating and suturing the numerous wounds that the man had accrued upon his adventures in stalking his favored prey.

"You're sure it was him?"

The voice echeod from the nothingness of the other end of the room that had been drapped with cloth from the cieling and walls to hide whom ever hid behind them.

Domdrudis hung by his hands from a bar set across the walls to which he held onto tightly as the men who tended his wounds burned his flesh and bound them with all manners of ill smelling poultices and ointments that almost felt more like glass and salt being spread across the wounds than anything.

"It was The old man, there is no question of it. I told you my little bird would lead us to her mate and kin. We got more than I originally had imagined, I clipped The little sparrows wings too. I told you, he was nothing more than a song bird. His brother stands the same chance against our might."

The man snarled while saliva trickled from his bloodied maw, results from the near freezing hands those whom worked on him. To which they decided to handle themselves a little softer after receiving the glare from their patient.

"You have much faith in yourself but your abilities have proven results. when do you hunt again? What is your target from here? What do you seek to gain from the knowledge you now possess?"

The faceless voice once again demanded, seething with hatred and disgust as if to speak the very things that came from his mouth was beneath him.

"I have what I need. I will let them grow content in their ignorance and contempt. Do you not already seen that which has been spun? How does one escape the holds of Orthanc? Moving  The bitch was like chum in the water just as I told you it would.  We knew it would bring her mates and we didn't even have to work, we simply let the hounds play."

Domdrudis sneered and laughed before letting the bar go and slamming his open palm against one of the workers with a threat of another should he not remove himself from the bounty hunters path.

"The board has been laid out and we have the advantage. Who would stop us? The Order? Pah, they are bent and broken. Scattering like bugs at the first light. Now you think an Inn full of high and mighty knife ears and My next trophy will be any sort of threat? You fear a lot for a man who won't show his face..."

He challanged the individual behind the curtains, his beaming smile dripping with a lust that only carnage would be able to satisfy. He waited to hear the reply, almost looked forward to what ever threat was to slither from this employers lips.

"Take the remnants of Yilgtig... I know they thirst for vengeance for their fallen house."
