Inyahin, spending her time studying lore in the Libraries of Lord Elrond in search of something that would help her unravel the wizard's riddles. She read a great deal about the two trees, the Valar and their stories of the creation of the elves, dwarves and men. Then an older volume called the "before the depths of time" seemed ebb in its place on the shelf, like a water between waves on the shore, maybe it was a trick of the light coming through the window...
Inyahin thought to her self "it must be a trick of the light", but it had caught her attention so she had decided to investigate this book regardless. The book was old, older than all the other volumes by far and yet the pages seemed to have substance within them preventing their total deterioration. Nonetheless Inyahin treated this book as softly as she could.
The book told of Eru, creator of all things, and how he had dreamed the Ainur into existence and taught them music. And how one of them called Melkor turned to his own devisings and in jealousy and hatred for the others tried to disrupt the music, which was met with counter point and a joyful melody.
Next, Inyahin read about how Eru had enjoyed the music and decided to give the Ainur eyes to see it in form. The universe and the world of Eä was created from Eru's imperishable flame; and those Ainur that stepped into the world became the Valar. It explained how all events that transpired in Eä were the fruit of the music that had been played.
Inyahin pondered to herself, "If all this is true, then each elf, dwarf, man, orc and goblin must be a note or a phrase, or melody in the great song. Either played by the Ainur or by Melkor; and if Melkor is trying to turn all the song into hatred and the Ainur is playing over each melody to soften it then each phrase or melody must be played twice. Once in joy and once in darkness. So a doom is upon us all, we must choose. Embrace the light of Eru's Imperishable Flame, or fall into the darkness, shadow and flame of Melkor.".
"But that doesn't answer any riddles!" she exclaimed loudly. Then remembering she was in the library hushed herself and put the books back on the shelves where she found them.
