Third Age Diary: Waymeet to Weathertop (2/4)

We were not given much time to think on what was occurring betweein Sir Furley, Lady Daphnee and the other man. The second man approached Amathlan, Lady Gisuna and I. It seemed we were blocking his way. It turns out the two unidentified men knew each other.

The man spoke to the three of us, as we were in his way. He asked us where 'his' boxes were. I was truly not understanding at first. Who was he and what boxes was he speaking of? Things got tense quickly as he told us that we had his boxes. Amathlan seemed quite offended as they spoke and said some choice words that I shall not repeat here.

But then he insulted Amathlan. If I was not angry before, I surely was now. My ire, already stirred, ran my mouth. Though my bow was pointing down the man, and we had insulted him, this man seemed unbothered by the whole thing. What happened next could have ended very badly, for all of us.

Upon the ridges of the mountain, several archers and even wargs appeared. It seemed we were outnumbered. We did not have the upper hand. But since we did not have the goods on us, Lady Catrena said that they were headed towards Bree, probably to get us out of the situation.

With more arguments, the two men and their company finally left. It was with relief, but also anxiety. As we knew they would head to find our goods. And after insulting us so and putting company in danger, Furley wished for us to find them, and kill them all. We rode fast and hard back to the Forsaken Inn, where we would stop and plan our next move.
