Garsfeld

A brisk morning on the cliffs of Garsfeld a gentle knock was heard on a door, echoing between the rocks in the village. Aeomiyn the village Clathere (Clothier) greeted the man who stood at it, clad in a fine Rohirric tunic wrapped within his cape. After a brief exchange of words, Aeomiyn bade the man farewell, and entered back into the house which her dead husband built in days past, and where they raised two sons. She called out, for she did have visit of the only living relatives left, Baldead and his wife Eirveth. For word had been sent for them, requesting their presence in the Mead Hall.

In recent times, Thane Gísil of Garsfeld had become fond of Baldead the Sperewigend. Depending more and more on his experience, experience he had gained in the Wold and Sutcroft. More so of Baldeads, Eirveth, who used to be a Getaleboda (Messenger), now a Eoscealc (Horse Trainer). Bringing such a trustworthy and learned woman to the small settlement as well.

At the mead hall, Thane Gísil greeted them both offering Baldead a token for his loyalty and ensuring none could take such a loyal man from him, handing him a Bronze Sash making Baldead a Maegisterwigend of Garsfeld. Baldead didn’t take long to accept such responsibility, maybe too rash not thinking about his spouse, who held work in Snowbourn. Before he came to this realisation, Thane Gísil offered Eirveth to become Eoscealc of Garsfeld giving her a copper rampant stallion brooch. Eirveth bowed before the Thane accepting the offer, smiling with thoughts of her mother in-law, Aeomiyn, being around all the time and.. the dresses.

As they walked back to Aeomiyn’s home she was already waiting outside for it could either be ill or good news when summoned by the Thane. They quickly put Aeomiyn’s troublesome gaze to rest as they informed her of the news, not to much surprise she quickly said they should take over the house. With important jobs and lacking a place which they could call home and create in her hopes family, spawning grandchildren one day.

News quickly spreads around the area of Garsfeld to the farms below and in the village, maybe even beyond in Sutcrofts of a celebration of such titles to be held at the Mead Hall in the near future.
