Outward Appearance

Toddir is remarkably tall for a Bree-lander at roughly 6ft, giving his figure a lean and stretched appearance compared to his fellows, set further apart by his long face and slightly gaunt cheeks, framed by long, dark brown hair which appears obsessively maintained and arranged just so. The hint of a faded scar might be glimpsed on his left cheekbone, crawling up over his eyebrow, where the fringe of his hair makes an admirable attempt at masking it from view.

Sighted more often than not in rugged and travel-worn garbs, it might be easily guessed he is a man who rarely stays still for long, there is nevertheless visible effort made into keeping his appearances in good repair, and even fashionable. His accent and mannerisms is a queer mash-up of Breeish and unmistakably foreign influences, a sign of frequent intermingling with southerners, which atimes alienates him among his own.

There is an air of nonchalance about the way he carries himself, his smile touched with a hint of sardonic carelessness posed towards what fate has to offer him.

Background

Toddir Fairfield was officially employed by the Bree Watch and given the unconventional role of scout, since then he only seen by his colleagues intermittently, appearing every few weeks to submit reports or accept new assignments in his continuing task of spying for the movements of known criminals and searching for persons reported missing on the roads of Bree.

Without family or many significant friends in town, little is known about the stray Fairfield, even among his own colleagues he is rarely seen or discussed. The discreet circumstances of his employment and his curious familiarity with the Breeish wilds has made Toddir subject to the occasional rumours of his origins, but his lack of uniform and infrequent sightings makes his presence on the roster easy to forget.

In recent times he travels a steady circuit around the four villages, their connected roads, and the wilderness around them, always leading him back to Bree-town.

Friends
Toddir keeps a small list of folk close to his heart.
Relatives
Toddir speaks little of his family. The Fairfields may be known to some as one of the families based on the outlying farmsteads between Bree-town and Trestlebridge. The one closest to kin now is his wife, Lorayne Bittercress.
Rivals/Enemies
He prefers to leave them in the past where they belong.
Loves
Lorayne. Socializing and drinking, never the latter without the former. Travelling Bree-land, and daydreaming, of what lies beyond. Bree-town and it''s civilized luxuries, a warm bed, hot meals, hotter baths. Lorayne's smoking pipe.
Hates
Criminals, but still more; vigilantes, and those who consider themselves above the law. He has short patience for those who boast of bloodshed, make light of killing, or call violence a means to an end. Most of all, Toddir despises lies and deceit.
Motivation
Making the most of the time he has.
Quotes
"What if the poor sheep knew it's only a matter of time before the farmer would make mutton chops out of him? But the pasture is still where he belongs."
