The History of The Rose Valley Farm

Brandilyn and Daylyn Rose run a small farm in Breeland. It started out as a small flower farm. Over the years the farm took on another purpose, it turned into a farm that helps supply the nearby camps and outposts that are manned by the protectors of the lands.

Their father was a hunter and fighter and never liked being a farmer but farming was his family's way. Once the farm was his to run he kept the flowers but added in something that appealed more to him. A farm that could help in the effort to protect the lands. He married a local woman and she helped with the farming, cooking, and making of things they could take to the camps and outposts. The couple was very happy and soon had two beautiful daughters. The first one, Miss Daylyn Rose, took after her father with raven black hair and deep green eyes, and she desired to be just like him. Daylyn's younger sister, Miss Brandilyn Rose, took after their mother, fire red hair, bright green eyes and a forever gentle and kind way about her.

The two girls grew up in the best place in the world, as far as they knew. Flower fields to run in and horses to ride, berry bushes and apple trees to pick fruits from and hammocks for long naps on hot summer days. Daylyn would soon follow her father around, begging him to teach her how to wield a sword and shoot a bow. She also wanted to learn how to drive the wagon he took on deliveries and how to do everything he did. Brandilyn wanted to stay nearby the farm and help her mother and anyone else she could. She had a bond with all the animals and she would help train the horses and dogs. She would also help her mother cook the meals and take care of the farmhands.

Their life was perfect for many years, until the day it wasn't. That was the day their father was killed. It was five years ago, he was on a mission with some hunter friends he had from Bree. His wife and girls never really meet these men, but they were how he knew where the camps and outposts were that needed help with supplies. The day his wife had to meet these friends was the day they came to her with the news of his death. The girls were fifteen and twenty and were working at the shop in town selling flowers when the news came to the farmstead. They returned home that night as usual and found the house dark and the ovens cold. Their mother was always there to greet them but instead it was Fern and Fin, long time friends and workers on the farm. Fern was a little older than Daylyn and she pulls her aside to tell her the news while Brandi and Fin go to look after the horses. Daylyn was already a strong woman but this hit her hard, she held back her tears and went to find her mother. No one was the same after this day. When Daylyn found her mother she was in bed holding on to one of her husbands shirts. The grief more than she knew what to do with, she never recovered. That winter she caught a cold and died.

Brandilyn and Daylyn were then left alone on their beautiful farm, with many people depending on them for survival through the rest of the winter months. The young women stepped into the roles of their parents and started running the farm and making the deliveries.

Five years has past since the death of their parents and the young women are still trying their best to keep their small farm running. Brandilyn stays on the farmstead or in town at the shop and Daylyn runs most of the deliveries with a few helpful farmhands. The farm is in need of help and they are hiring farmhands, guards and swords men, hunters, and cooks.
