Hand of Fate – the prisoner

She opened her eyes and what she saw scared her for a moment, she was sitting in a cell, darkness everywhere and insane voices all around. She was listening to them, all came from women. They were shouting and crying, she did not understand them clearly, but she could imagine those words. She was looking around in her cell. It was cold and dirty, bones and dried blood everywhere, drawing on the walls made with blood. She tried to stay calm and to think about any chance to escape from that place. She did not see her backpack or her weapons around, the anger got her and she was about to run to the cell grid when the chains on her legs and arms pulled her back to the ground. She fell and looked down at herself, her clothes gone too, all she was wearing is a dirty linen suit and she felt some pain from her chest and sides. She thought or at least hoped those are wounds from the time they caught her, which she can not remember at all.

She did hear a door was opening slowly with a loud noise and someone was walking towards her cell. Those steps were heavy and careful. She did not see who was that, she saw nothing just a dark shape in front of her. That person started to talk to her:

- What is your name?

She said nothing, she turned her head down towards the ground. He asked her again with more anger in his voice:

- What is your name woman?

She did not react again. The man stood there for more when he turned away and said before he left:

- You will be the next one.

His steps faded and the door closed again.

With time the voices of the other women stopped. She did hear some new ones, but later all of them gone. She tried to find out what’s going on there. All she figured out was the person who asked her may lead that prison. He came back to her not once and asked the same questions everytime:

- What is your name?

- Why are you not talking to me?

- Do you want to die?

- You gave up already?

There were just women around, not even a man and they disappeared after time. Sometimes she was alone or just none were talking or shouting, crying there. But why is she still there. She was thinking:

- He said I will be the next one. When and where? Why am I here and what will they do with me? Those women around. What did they do with them?

She had a lot questions and did’t get any answers. Not yet. All she thought is that she will say nothing to them. Not her name, if she has a family or anything that person asking from her. She will stay calm and keep her identity in secret.

- Who would come and find me? None. Not even Fiontann. He thinks I left without a word. Others? I had none else. The best if they think I’m still alive somewhere, if I will be the next here I’m sure they kill me for some strange things. So none should know who was the girl in the cell.

She leaned back on the ground and was staring into the darkness, imagined good moments in her life, not to become insane from that all. Weeks and months past. She was still there in her cell, felt so weak and crashed by that time, but still stayed calm and said nothing to them.

The door opened again with the same loud noise and she did hear two of them walking towards her cell. Both stood there and started to talk:

- What is your plan with her my lord?

She felt his eyes on her while the shade was thinking in front of her. She felt like shout at them and ask them just to kill her right there, but she still stayed quiet.

- I don’t want to kill her yet. She is different from the others.

- What do you mean by that my lord?

- Look at her. She came from other lands. She was a good catch. I have plans with her.

The other one nodded to him and left with fast steps, but the shade stayed there and asked her again:

- What is your name?

She said nothing and felt his anger from far. The shade turned away and left the room with the same heavy steps. The door closed again and she was left alone.
