Dark hair and hazel eyes, a figure pleasant to look at, especially in a dance. Bearish and direct, sometimes naughty and temperamental - striking features for one of the Fair Folk. Illiterate by Elven standards (knows only 3 or 4 languages along with their history and mythology). She loves and hates to its fullest, and she can also be very patient and persistent. Loyal beyond measure to her friends.

Background

Be sure to read about her history, bloodline, and heritage > here! <

She was born to the naval military advisor Avaranguil (Unwilling Steel) in the Second Era, just when the warships of Gil-Galad son of Fingon son of Fingolfin landed in the Grey Haven, answering to a call from king Elendil and thus forming the Last Alliance against Sauron. The child called and cooed for her first time just when the Sickle of Valar was ascending on the sky, therefore her name: The Cry of Amazement Over the Rising Stars.

From that moment on, the stars were guides and guardians of the girl's destiny. Her father lost his taste for war and instead was spending time with his family and the newborn daughter, despite the ongoing siege of Barad Dur. This resulted in anger of his commanders and ultimately, stripping him of his assets and rank. This was the legacy of Eloen Aduial, growing up in the wilderness of Ningloron (Gladden Fields) as an exile. Her mother Gearbrethil is believed to have died of grief soon after, as she could not have suffered the hardships of an outcast and being removed from the society. Both Eloen Aduial and her father blamed the Elven nobility for her pointless death, and denying her the privilege of sailing off the Grey Havens into Aman.

A couple of years later, Eloen Aduial even took part in last accords of the Last Alliance, still as a little girl, by helping the Isildur's troops in local pathfinding. Elves would not recognize her, but humans did not mind the Elven exile youngling. Still, neither her knowledge of the wild, nor the strength of Isildur's men, could save the heir of Arnor from his doom, and along with his life, the Ring was also lost in the currents of Anduin.

Lady Galadriel, the White Lady herself, recognized her efforts to redeem her family's honour and opened before her the gates of Lothlórien and of Elven wisdom, previously prohibited to her. Galadriel's maidens restored much of the Elvish beauty in the bearish child of the wilderness and night stars. She found a suitable tutor for her, a travelling Elf herself, originating from the Mirkwood, Thalathoniel.

Tatanya (dad) was a sailor, or at least knew a lot about the mariner's trade, and the girl picked up his sayings. 'Ahoy matey' or 'Ahoy me hearties', is her natural and friendly way of saying hello. She also uses her own language, based on the speech of the forest, and the mix of Elven and Men tongues, to secretly write down her own poetry and thoughts.

As an Elf, she does not really change, but rather observes in amazement and often anguish as centuries, kingdoms, alliances and philosophies come and go around her. Ultimately, all what is left of them, are remarks in dusty books and empty, dark halls of stone. She knows the pain of losing beloved ones and all the human friends she once used to know. In her sadness, she observes as once mighty and vast forests shrink and whither, and more and more greedy and harsh times come to pass.

Only recently, she was caught in a goblin ambush in the outskirts of Mirkwood along with Ronimli the Dwarf on his way to relatives in Iron Hills, and fighting side by side lay a strong foundation for their friendship.

Little does she know that she actually has a half-sister, younger by three thousand years, of a Rohirric origin, Rioghnach. Be sure to visit her thoughtfully and artistically deocrated house at 3 Peak Way, Marrock, East Rohan!
