Brablo's Diary - Entry 12

My poor diary! Found hidden away on my desk with a coat of dust around it (surely an indication of the cleanliness of the Burrow in my absence!). My last entry was so long ago, it seems, though that is no matter. My error - that being my foolishness - was forgetting to pack it. It was only when I reached Bywater that I realised - by then I was much too far from home to return for it!

My "summer holiday" to Buckland, which I undertake every few years, alas, extended thrughout the autumn. For two months I was rather under the weather, and Master Saradoc - that most courteous of hosts - would not hear of me leaving until I was well again. The silver lining to that cloud, though, was that it gave me ample time to spend in the grand library of the Brandy Hall. Indeed, I return home with a vast collection of notes and copies from my endeavours there! My cousins are all well, though Farandoc seems to have suffered the very same malady as I. The complaints of the old!

Bordo has kept my affairs in good order during my absence, as all at first glance seems to be much the same as I left it. I am quite eager to return to my research on the coin hoard discovered my Mr. Harfield and I. It has been long since I have spoken with him - I shall be sure to invite him for tea!
