I found him. Damn me but I am almost pleased to see the old dog! Come up behind me while I was talking to one of the northerners. Quiet on his feet as ever. He gives me a bit of a smile ... he remembers that fight in the inn. No grudges on my part, won fair and square he did. Worth it, to see the expression on her bloody face as she bundled us out of the door. Man... she was wroth! But a lass like her, see, she knows nothing, nothing, about fighting men. What can a bloody girl know about what we need to do? So I tells him that m'bloody lady wants him, to get over to the lake camp quick. Seems no one but Vallandur can do the job ... him and that other northerner she been away with. Seems that this lost maid in the marsh, this Celebhir, is some old friend of Val'dur. Always one for the elves, him. Spent the night talking to a northern lass. Pretty voice, sour girl though. Seems to think a good gondorian man is beneath her. Daft mare. I mean, these northern lads are good enough, but they know nothing about the east and a real fight. So I carry on talking around the fire with this other northerner. Big lad. Obvious from his face he's known a fight or two. We got to talking about women, as you do ... he got me onto that sour girl and m' bloody lady. Almost spoilt my night. Not sure what I think of him, got some odd ideas in his head. Still, when I get Val'dur back to the lake-camp she will shut up for a while. He can listen to her instead. Maybe she will have found her northerner. No doubt the three of them will sit there and plan, an' it will be me who has to do all the damn work.
