I Tínendirn - The Threat

Ost Ringdyr was over a full days travel by horse away from Glân Vraig.
Thendryt was riding slowly along the edge of a ravine. As the terrain became more treacherous, he dismounted and started leading Bovad.
The sounds of a voice brought him to a sudden halt. He drew his sword by instinct as he spotted the figure above him.
“A message, Man of the Warband, from Lord Dolthafaer!”
Female, had to be an Elf. An Elf with a bow, he noticed.
The arrow didn’t hit him, but was aimed at a tree a couple of meters in front of him.
“Read it well!”
Thendryt lowered his sword and walked over to the tree. The arrow had a piece of paper tied to it. He took the arrow in a firm grip and pulled it out, glancing up towards the female Elf.
Holding the arrow in his right hand, he unfolded the paper.
A wave of rage exploded inside of him as he saw what the message was. A page from one of his old journals.
Thendryt stored a few in Delossad. But they were well hidden. Dolthafaer must have found it after he left.
The arrow in his right hand snapped in half as he read which page the Arrow Lord had chosen to intimidate him with.
The page had one word written on it, repeated over and over and over.
Weakness.
Thendryt remembered the page, remembered the night when he had tried to sort out his thoughts by writing his thoughts down. The thoughts returned to him, and so did the memories. And the pain.
“If you have a message in return-“ The Elf shouted. “I will bear it back to the Arrow lord.”
Thendryt’s looked up, his glare filled with rage. What maddened him the most was that the damned Elf wouldn’t threaten him to his face, but sent one of his little underlings in his stead.
“No message then?” The female Elf turned to leave.
Thendryt’s first thought was the spear. But a fatality to anyone but the Elf responsible would mean nothing. Besides, he would never be able to set foot in the Vale again. If he survived that long.
Looking for something, anything, his gaze come upon a small stone at his feet. Thendryt grabbed it and hurled it with all his might towards the female Elf. He put all of his emotion into the throw, all his anger and rage.
The female elf suddenly stumbled. Hit.
“You tell you master that if he wants to threaten me, he can do it himself!” Thendryt roared. “Next time I see one of his minions, I'll send him a message back!”
The female Elf got on her feet and retreated.
