Resting and preparing

Resting at Ost Forod, a place where the inhabitants are of doubtful alignment, it suits us one can say, beaten and tired, with half of our supplies lost here and there. I reunited with my companions recently, I had to leave them at the fields of Annundir if I recall its name correct. It's there that we first encountered that tall man who treats the wargs as his children, and they obey...

I had a feeling that it would come to that and I was prepared, and I hoped that the others were prepared too... We followed Thaldaneth in a secret passage, as he said, towards the West. The deeper we went the more surrounded we were becoming, wargs with red eyes were blocking our way until he came and I had to join him. It was I or everyone... We were outnumbered by far and he was there too. And as a real leader must do I went with him to buy some time for my companions, I won't hide behind them, I won't have them slain so that I alone stay alive, I have a duty towards those that follow me and I will be just towards them. I respect and love them all.

I gave the command to Rothrian and Mynna and left with only my shield and sword, my right had wasn't much useful due ot the arrow but it was all I could do, not that I was able to hold them. The moment I made the first step the wargs kept their attention to me, as if the others didn't exist and that gave me courage to move on and face them, him. They lead me deep into the fields and the Wargmaster came up to me, his eyes were burning with hatred as he looked and then shook his head and said "You are no Dunadan, you don't deserve to die by my hand." and walked away with a grin and lowered his hand, commanding the wargs to charge. All I could do was to raise my shield and push back on or two wargs, the first that charged, they were too many and I was too weak, the shield fell from my hand and they all surrounded me and started biting and clawing me.

I could not see it then by now I see it can, they weren't doing it to eat me, they wanted to hurt me and leave me to die. To avenge me for those two times that we defeated him. One of them bastards even clawed my right eye, now I have to wear a damn eye patch again... They torn my clothes and filled my body wth bleeding wounds, I lost everything I had on me, my waterskin, coins, my pipe was broke at the siege, my sword, the only thing that I was left was the dagger that Lady Finlothiel gave me, I cannot lose it.

In the end I was left to crawl and bleed to death, my first concern was my company and I started moving South, towards the road navigated by the morning sun. I was sure to die, I wouldn't make it up the hill, not in a condition like that. I stood against a tree to draw some breaths and regain some strength when I saw an armoured figure looking at me, I mustered my strength and got ready to confront it if need be, it could be a friend as much as it could be a foe, especially in there, in that gigantic pit. He said that he was sent by Finlothiel, his name is Naegilrond and the Lady sent him to make sure we are well. He tended to my wounds and wanted to carry me back to Meluinen but I refused, my mind was on my companions. I am sorry for being so stubborn and I apologised to him but I had to make sure that they are well no matter what, their safety before mine.

He took me into that fould land called Fornost and there into a camp we found them, just on time, some crebain were flying and we had to hide, if that is the reason that Naegilrond hid me, I do not know if it was birds. At the camp everyone was in a haste, getting ready to leave and soon after we reached them we departed. The trip was troublesome for I saw that some didn't want to obey and others were trying to give orders. That moment I saw that however right I was to leave to keep them alive that much was wrong, for they weren't ready for that. But now I'm here and I don't intend to leave them again, no matter what. We headed North and passed by a crack on a wall and walked by some ancient tombs only to get to a ranger camp that lies at the border of Evendim and the North Downs. There we rested and waited for the enemy that blocked our way to thin by the constant attacks of the rangers and once they did I send the majority of the company to Ost Forod to rest.

Mina found some writings on the door of the ruin and Masrick pushed the door open, there we found a huge tomb, Mina said that it was the tomb of the protectors of Amon Sul that was destroyed by the artifact that we seek. She copied everything that she saw and here we are resting and once she translates it we'll be one step ahead of the enemy. Once we rest we'll go on towards where those writings say, our hopes renewed and our strength s back!
