The battle of Helms Deep

Some may not know about this battle that cost the land of Rohan so many.....
For those I shall show what this battle did to the once great fortress of Helms Deep.

Just before the battle occured. The strong men of Rohan prepaired themselves upon the wall.
Little did they knew of what was to come.

Bravely they fought against a never ending force of Orc, Uruk and many other servants of Saruman the White.

About an hour into the great battle a cruel and dark fate struck the men of Rohan.
The wall was blow up by a dark force that Saruman had implanted underneath it. The sewer had become their doom.

Soon the forces of Saruman the White managed to pour into the stronghold by using the narrow passage that was created with the black powder.
Many tried to hold them back but it seemed in vain.

The forces inside the stronghold grew, but the forces outside of it seemed endless. How could the men of Rohan withhold such a strength of forces!

It took the enemy not long before their force claimed the wall of Helms Deep. Cheering and surrounded by fire they gazed upon the destruction and chaos that they have brought upon this once great fortress.

But when all hope seemed lost, when a final charge was made by Theoden, king of Rohan and his remaining men...
Fortune finaly came.
It was Eomer and the Eorlingas that arrived at exactly the right moment.
The force of the Eorlingas stormed down into the valley and ran down the army of Saruman with ease.
The battle was won!

As daylight came... the realization of what had occurred did to. Many families were torn apart by the night of slaughter and many lay dead within the fallen fortress.
Was it really a victory?

Was is truly something to be proud of? They prevented the fall of Rohan..... but at what cost?
Piles and piles of dead enemies now decorated both the field and the coomb.

So remember brave soldiers of Rohan...
The day you almost lost everything...
And the day you stood against an unbeatable force... and won.
Is it a victory? Is it a failure?
Perhaps it is both..... I'll leave that for you... to deside.
