Bandits - Part 6

Part 6

Taala's heart thumped in her chest... The man with the scar was the brigand who had taken hold of her horse during the attempted robbery, she'd put the scars there herself, her mind was racing as she gawped at the bandit, and the best she could muster in response to Eroforth's banter was “What?”

Eroforth shook his head sporting a wry grin, "Now I've had my fair share of responses, but usually it's along th' lines of a kiss or a slap. Not like someone's seen a ghost pissin' on their own grave!"

They tarried words for a while, bantering about their previous meeting, Taala was plotting the whole time... now she needed an accomplice, and from what she had picked up from Eroforth he was a capable Sellsword.  She slid onto his lap pulled his face roughly towards her and hissed a whisper “kiss me”.  Before he could refuse, she pressed her lips against his, the kiss soon gathering momentum from both parties.  Her eyes flashed towards Scar Arm across the room as the kiss continued, wrapping her arms about him to continue the pretense, she sneaks a whisper to his ear “play along” she urged...

After they tussled for a time he wrapped his arms about her waist pulling her round so that her back was facing the ruffians and whispered, “which one are you watching?”  He was sharp... keeping their cover going, in a hushed voice she told him as much as she was prepared to about the attack, and entered into a deal with him that would cost her a sword, if he would aid her in capturing, interrogating and possibly disposing of 'Scar-Arm' in an attempt to find out who had her locket.

Scar-Arm began to indicate that he may be leaving soon so Eroforth bussled her outside, and they took up a position by a large barrel that stood approximately twenty paces along the outside wall of the Inn, where again they took up the pretense of being amorous lovers.

Soon enough Scar-Face left the Inn, barely glancing at the couple, he pulled his cloak about him and strode confidently in the direction of the lumber camp.

The dusk light still lingered, the bandit just visible ahead of them, they kept a safe distance to avoid detection as they followed their quarry...

There was further hushed debate about how they would take him, always a risk he would call out and be heard by one of the many brigands who camped about the woods.  It ended up being an arrow to the back of the knee from Taala and a blow to the head with the hilt of Eroforth's dagger, that saw the bandit eventually bound to a chair in a disused shack in Chetwood...

It was there in that cold, murky, moss filled shack that they were forced to do some terrible, unspeakable things to the ill fated man, and begin to learn a little about each other, it was uncanny...how like minded they were...and both of them a little ruthless when it came down to business...though him more than her...
