Setting up Hilfar for the fall was proving to be more easy than the young Witch had anticipated. Through a mutual 'friend' in Bree, Lyfrid had met with a man who had a reputation of being able to remove items from their owners without any notice. The question remained would he be able to accomplish the reverse. This strange man assured Lyfrid, upon their meeting, that he would be able to slip the false evidence into the possession of the dwarf without any notice by anyone. Thinking to herself that he sounded a bit too confident but it was the best option, she agreed to pay him handsomely for this work and the first of the dominoes were set upright into place.
Next she would require a few bottles, empty or otherwise, from the potion maker so she could fill it with Mirth then place it back into his inventory. The snake skin would be easier, she already had a piece and all that would need be done with it would be to place it again in the potion makers possession so it could be found, if someone looked for it, but not found by Hilfar. Her newly hired agent with the sticky fingers claimed it would be easy enough to get the bottles and place them and the skin in the stand the dwarf maintained in Bree. Sticky Fingers also claimed he could obtain a few bottles for her purpose, so she waited.
Sure enough, Sticky, as she started to call her agent... at least to herself, had sent a note via their contact in Bree that he had obtained the bottles. The two conspirators met shortly after and Lyfrid spiked the potions with her own potion, that being the Mirth. She put enough of her concoction into the potions so that whoever took a slug of the liquid would immediately find himself or herself in a fine state of narcosis, enough to cause trouble but not render the imbiber into the arms of the grim reaper, at least she assumed. Now that the agent had the snake skin and potions, he wandered off to plant the evidence. Next couple of dominoes were now in place.
