Unreasonable Reason ~ 4 ~ On friendship

Taming a beast is no easy feat.

When you've managed to do so, taking advantage in every which way is something you should be careful with. Controlling the direction of a tornado can either bring profit or downfall.

Praesule. One of the very first few that Mayrin was able to call an actual friend. Normally, she gives no heed to those trying to help her, rather just chasing them away with spitfire anger; but she never did for this particular doctor, and has gained immense profit from it. A peculiar man, she's rather sure that he's the only person she could ever truly trust. Be it his usual supporting hand to her nature, or that he's aided her injuries without a blink, she isn't sure—but his sight and name has always spurred an affectionate mood-twist, which is all that her focus would remain. Only he does she rarely question his advice and input.

Asteldis. Mayrin has always had some urge of impulse to protect the sort of helpless figure, though swaps between tormenting and such protective instinct. It was Astel's young nature, as a full-grown woman, that first caught May's interest; her stubbornness, childishness, yet unfaltering moral innocence. However much they clashed, May never could consider herself truly above the woman—holding the most odd urge to please her, to see her smile and hear her laugh. Only once, did May give in to an impulsive urge; a quick kiss, in the quiet after the storm of disaster. Astel neither rejected nor returned anything. It was a fear of losing her that prevented May from declaring exactly how deeply her feelings had begun to run. However, it's been a long while since she's seen the woman; fallen to believe that she'd be rejected anyhow for breaking promises, she's given up on chasing her romantic intentions.

Eillyne. The best example of the weak that she would harass and bully—however though, the pace had been forcibly twisted around so that Eillie would become the most protected by May. A combination of being punched by the late Warrence and the assault upon the blind woman, May turned her attitude around and befriended the woman that she harassed on a near daily basis. Now, she talks to the girl each and every day, nearly possessively looming around her, scaring or fighting off all that she deems unfit to converse with the blind woman.

Cattalinna. A more newly-met woman that May is believing herself to be falling for; an odd woman who considers a lantern to be her bestfriend, she's sweet and gentle, quite attune to manners. They haven't known each other for long, but May can see the likelihood of turning hostile against her is quite low. She looks forward to her.

Ralyn. She isn't sure how much of a friend she can call him; he's admitted to embarking with intention to kill her, and has threatened much more to ruin her life when she proceeds to act out against him. It's more of a frustrating mess of battling for control, even though he does still keep to calling with the title of a friend. Him being romantically involved with Cat, it only makes their conflictions that much more worse.

There are more that fall into the area of either toleration or usefulness, though the list of enemies still proceeds to overlap and overrun the amount of friends.
