Surrender

Annsuel woke up in a strange place. Pain from her side grasped her and made the world around her fuzzy. At first she couldn't quite remember what had happened, only that every muscle in her body ached and that she couldn't move. The sheets she laid upon was soft and the room was warmly lit by a fire.

Pain became unbearable when Annsuel tried to push herself up, and a yelp had escaped her mouth. A man came to the side of the bed, telling Annsuel to relax.  She was confused, dazed. Her head throbbed, though she could feel her face was bruised. Everything hurt. The man gave Annsuel his name, Firthal. Then Annsuel suddenly remembered.

Balthen.

It had been a few days earlier that Zurich told Annsuel what had happened. Balthen's accident left him with no memories of Indignation. Annsuel wanted to help him, but Balthen attacked her. He tried to strangle Annsuel, but she managed to escape that only to be kicked in the rubs that she had broken that same week. That's why her side hurts. She then remembered his foot being swung at the forehead.  After that she had plunged into a black abyss. Nothingness was what surrounded Annsuel. A dreamless sleep, but Annsuel needed that.

It had been a hard time lately for Annsuel. To start, a lady named Marwae had attacked Annsuel and Zurich. One stab wound to the stomach and another to the left arm. A few days after that, Annsuel had attempted to save a man by the name of Aadan. That's how she broke her ribs. And yet the man was still murdered. After that, a man attempted to murder Annsuel, leaving her to have to be saved by Goldgel and Hardoleth. And now Annsuel had been attacked by Balthen.

'I'm done,' Annsuel murmured to herself. She was exhausted from fighting. She was exhausted from watching men die. She was done.
