Chronicle Summary
Composed by Híthenér during his time in Angmar, the Sirionic Lay is a regret-filled account of one of the worst catastrophes to befall Elven-kind.
Chronicle Content
The Lay is an epic re-telling of the kinslaying at the Mouths of Sirion, a battle in which the three surviving sons of Fëanor attempted to regain the Silmaril won by by Beren and Lúthien. Many of the refugees from Gondolin and Doriath were killed, as was Amras and many other Noldor on the attacking side. Elwing's escape from the sons of Fëanor led to the voyage of Eärendil to Aman and eventually the War of Wrath.
