So it has happened at last!
I have imagined this day for so long, but I can hardly believe it is now here. It has been a long, hard journey from the dark times in exile. Now I can safely say I am happy. I have a loving wife, something I did not think I would live long enough to see. A humble soldier becoming a Lord through marriage.
I may not often confess it to others, but to Saeldith I have always been honest. Titles have never mattered to me, only what I have felt. Even so, I find myself in a position of responsibility and I shall act as is expected. Hopefully, Saeldith will be able to help me develop the correct attitude.
The ceremony came together surprisingly well at such short notice. Word of my imminent arrest at the hands of mercenaries sent from Gondor was all that I needed to know it was time. Fortunately, I have managed to persuade them to turn back now I am indeed a member of the Thorongial family. Once again, Saeldith has saved me.
I have developed a strong bond with the few around us. I hope nothing happens to break it, for it would take me a long time to trust again...
For now, I am content.
