Are you kidding?

Elhevor has not met any nandorin elf since he move away from Eryn Galen, many many years ago.

So you can imagine his wonder when one day Master Elrond told him that a delegation from Mirkwood just arrived in Rivendell to discuss matters of great importance and asked him to greet them at the guest rooms…but the wonder soon became disappointment when Elhevor founds himself upon the sindarin prince of the woodland realm, the son of the hated  king Thranduin!

The conversation went sour as they talked about their homeland (which Elhevor said was NOT Legolas true homeland, since the sindar actually came to Eryn Galen from Doriath). At a certain point they almost came to blows, and only the intervention of a dwarf saved the young prince from Elhevor’s rage.

Here you can see Elhevor’s reaction when Legolas told him that his only plan to save the elves of Mirkwood from the shadow of Dol Guldur, was a sort of rite consisting in throwing a little ring into the mouth of a great volcano….
