Feamiril's Letter to Lord Anglachelm

This is the content of the letter which was sent from Feamiril of Lórien to Anglachelm of Vanimar, with the help of Telpenaro.

"Renowned lord Anglachelm,

I am Feamiril, Elvealin's father who dwells in Lothlórien. While Elloen was here, he gave me a special token which he found in Eregion. It is a brooch of a warrior – a brooch of my brother Fearáto who has passed to the Halls of Mandos, like a golden wreath of leaf blades set with an icy blue gem. Elloen, his son, asked me to send it to you. This very brooch came across Helcaraxë with Fearáto, and myself.

You also must have met Telpenaro by now if you have received this letter. He is, like you and me, an Elf of the First Age and a warden of Lórien. If you ask him about about his silver pendant, he will show you it's secrets, as his story is written in it. He has loyally served the Lord and Lady within the guard, and if you accept him to your ranks, he may yet get another chapter written in his life before he passes to the West.

I know not what your message to the Lady was, but soon after Telpenaro was granted a permission to get in Rivendell, and he asked if he can help with Elloen's request.

Elloen's request was for me to repair the brooch which he found while he was looking for Danel and her company. He asked me to do this, because I was the one who taught my daughter, so he knew my skills. He also thought that it is not worth it to take such a treasure with him, if he's about to enter a peril.

He wished me to send it to you, because you are his master. The brooch is his by the right of heritage, of course, but just like Fearáto's master gave the brooch to him for his efforts, Elloen wishes to earn the brooch as well as a tradition, so he wishes you to give it to him when he returns. This is why he decided to go on with Danel to protect the company, besides that he loves your House as a brother. As for your messages for them, they have been delivered as far as I know.

This is why his arrival back to his true homesteads will also take longer than expected. You need not explain this to Elvealin, since I am already sending another letter to her, and she already knows Telpenaro as the friend of our family. You can ask about the brooch from Elvealin, if you are willing to see or give it. My gift has already reached her as well.

I wish high hopes for my nephew, and I hope that my messenger is of your liking.

- Feamiril"
