Dear journal,
I haven't gotten much time to write today. I've managed to get a bit of time to continue, but I'll have to stop soon. The details aren't very good but I'm trying my best to remember. Anyways, let me skip over my stay at the camp, and the road back to Bree. When I was back, I felt like I had ran away like a coward. So, like an idiot, I went looking for him. Well, it's more like I let him come to me. Since I knew he would hunt me down, I rode to the abandoned cemetery, climbed on the roof and waited for him to arrive. It took about an hour. I can't say I wasn't impressed. He dismounted and brought the horse near a tree.
'I thought you'd come.' I said.
He ignored me and walked back in front of the house, turned his back to me and watched the cemetery.
'I'm up here, idiot!' I shouted at him. That was pretty stupid, but he already knew I was there, so who cares?
'Are you going blind AND deaf? Yikes! Sucks to be you!' I continued. I was trying to get at his nerves and make him unwary, and I think it was working. Well, the nerves part.
'You look like a little child that didn't get what he wanted!' I said while laughing. That must of worked, since he turned around. His hood was blocking his face, so I didn't know just how annoyed he was. He threw something at me and I ducked, but then I realized that it wasn't meant to hit me. I jumped of the roof as it blew up.
'Pity. That was a nice roof.' I said. 'Did you have to do that?'
'I don't think the people who lived here would like having a burglar on their roof.' I shrugged. Having someone on your roof is better than no roof at all, I'd say.
This is where my memory gets blurry. I don't remember what we were saying, but I know that he treated me of thief, I treated him of murderer, he affirmed being one and there was other stuff like that. At the end we started fighting again, but I remember that.
He had taken out his halberd again, which I felt like breaking in pieces since it made my life harder and got me into the trouble I'm in now. At first, he tried to trap me on the wall of the house, but I managed to circle around him instead. Then he tried to take a swipe at me from the side, so I blocked it with my sword. The good thing was I didn't get hit. The bad thing was that my sword got stuck in his halberd. I tried and tried to pull it out, but it was really stuck. As I was doing that, he was dragging me towards him. I had no choice but to let go of my sword. All I had left was my dagger, which I wasn't planning to let go as easily. I passed it to my left hand and folded it behind my arm, acting as though I was defenseless. But then he did something I did not expect. He stuck his halberd in the back of my armor and pulled me towards him. I dug my heels in the ground and fought against him. I tried to pull the halberd out, but it was impossible. I was slowly being dragged towards someone I did not want to get near. Finally he managed to bring me near him. I put my dagger at his throat, but I could not kill him. The best I could of done was hurt him or knock him out, but he never let me the chance. He grabbed my arm and started to try and break it. I punched him in the face with my other hand and struggled to escape, but he would not let go. I dropped my dagger and his hood fell back. I almost vomited. He had a scar that went all along his face, and the face itself looked as though it had been melted. Just then, my arm broke. I screamed as the overwhelming crack could be heard. He let go and I stumbled backwards, gripping my arm. The pain was horrible. He then knocked me over and pinned me to the ground with his knee. He punched me in the face a couple of times, then in the throat. He was trying to choke me. It was VERY scary. My head was throbbing, and dark spots flickered in front of my eyes. I couldn't breathe. A couple of seconds later, everything went black.
