Tall tales from Bancross - Part one

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Ethel came to me one merry morn in spring, as many flowers had started blossoming, and the golden sun gently warmed the frosted grass. Tall tales she had heard from Thilwend, the esteemed sergeant of the guard, and to me Ethel asked if I would gather more stories from those that still remembered, as she had always loved listening to my tales of yore.

Story

Our days seem to grow ever darker, even as winter has finally left us and the sun rises up earlier each morn, and stays up until later in the eve. Yet there is still that crude feeling of unrest in the air, paired with the smell of distant black smoke and an ominous mist rolling down the mountains. The worried whispers and watchful eyes among the guardsmen keep speaking of a shared fear, and Denholm does all he can to keep the morale up in these times of turmoil.

In song remembered

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Poetry
Shadows grew long afore the dimmed dawn
while men awoke to muted horns;
hearty men green-cloaked and ironclad.
Far they had ridden on well-trained steeds,
passing over river, mound and dale;
heavy hoofs broke ground well-traveled,
resting now on cold and dewy grass.
Still their fires burned and embers flew;
birds singing and crickets playing
in the misted morning, while the sun rose
behind mountains white-enclouded.

The merry fellowship of dwarves and men finally met this journey's end in the deep halls of Erebor, and after a wondrous tour over many a stair and stone, a feast awaited for the long-legged guests in the Hall Under the Mountain.

Much drink and cheer were shared as new and old friendships blossomed and prospered, and the clash of so distant cultures led to many a heartfelt laugh and woken interest between the different folks.

Leaving the town of Dale behind, there is but a short ride through the last patch of wilderness before reaching Erebor, and the far-away mountain only seems to grow taller and taller with each step they take towards it...

Having travelled safely through Mirkwood thus far, due to the guidance of a thoughtful Elf, and the company of friendly Dwarves, Waelden and Yllfa take a little time to themselves, and explore. Ethel is in safe hands, dancing with some of the elves that seem to delight in her enthusiasm.

Finally alone again, they marvel at the beauty of the caves, and at a recent discovery.

There is much beauty still in the lands.
