Dear Kestrel,

If you are reading this it means we were not able to meet before I made my preparations to return South. Much has happened since the last time we met and I believe I should explain things through, since I have made a vow to help you on your quest.

The Missing Caravan

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

The caravan rolls down the road from Faldham, they had just passed through with their cargo bound for Hawick, food stocks for the harvest as requested by the Thane. Emdar rode behind the wagon seated upon his horse, thoughts of Wulfreda filled his mind and of the talk they had the previous night, he would not have usually accompanied such a minor delivery but he had needed to clear his head.

The Return - Final

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

Each morning I awoke, it was as if I have never left Grimslade. My mother would still weave in silence by the kitchen, Hilda sang of the ride of Eorl. People would start to recognize me and greet as I walked by. I spent my days in reflection, helping in the house chores or telling of the strange things I saw on my journeys.

I went to the armsman, as my father's letter indicated. When I told him who I was, he took my measures and asked me to return in a few days. I had a suspicion of his reasons, but kept it to my own. I would not want to spoil my father's surprise to me.

Keeping a promise, part 7

Story

In the late afternoon we finally reached Aldburg, the thane led Leyda to the meadhal, but I had no wish to join them. Harred and I went to the tavern instead with the rest of our men. Harred grinned as he looked up on me.
“Bloody mess ey-today my lord.”
I could not help but grin, “A ripe mess indeed my friend.” I said.
“Was there any true harm in the boys escape?” Harred asked.

Keeping a promise, part 6

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

After a few days wait, I began to feel restless. Leyda had secured her seat and Folcburg seemed to slip through my fingers. In these days I spoke often with Feod about other ways to improve our position and secure our assets, but all seemed risky at best. Letter after Letter I had send to my friend, the good thane of Aldburg, requesting him to finally act out the decree following our plea for justice.

My dearest cousin, again you sweep aside my most wise counseling.
If you had done as I said, you’d still be thane of Folcburg.
But you were too weak willed for this business in the end.
Now here I am.. securing the hold for another of my choice. Leyda’s claim shall not hold, no I see another holding sway over Folcburg.

Already have I deposed of Wadu, cousin of the late thane. I had hope that Wulfreda would make the only proper decision and have him … disposed. But she had chosen to remain merciful.

Plea for justice

Official Document

I, Belethui of the House Bregion. Dor-Hallas, Gondor.

Hereby plea to the thane of Aldburg, and the Reeve/Ealdorman of the Eastfold to bring justice. And punish him who sought to steal from me and my trusted companions.

Halva son of Hale has been caught stealing from our encampment. He has been seen doing so by my associate Feod, and myself.
He held in his hands two swords of our making, and two dozen of arrows.
He had clad himself in the robes of my kindred, which he had also stolen.

Keeping a promise, part 4

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Summoned to Folcburg like a misbehaving dog, that is how I felt up on my discussion with Lady, Pardon me, Thane Wulfreda.
Initially I came to Folcburg to treat with her new husband, but the thane had perished.
"A hunting accident" she said.

She asked me to speak matters trough, she wanted to know of our progress.
And initially seemed pleased with my most discreet handy work.
Suddenly her tone turned sour, as she decreed the following:
