Background
Almonda Claybottle (also known as Ally by friends), a qualified cook and amateur musician, grew up in Bywater. Her mother is only a dressmaker but has a great passion for cooking. Unfortunately she burned her old burrow down while roasting a steak and ever since she's stayed away from the kitchen due to the fear of losing her home again. It can be said that Almonda's passionate love for cookery is inheritance from her mother. Almonda's father, for his part, is an unlucky farmer whose fields tend to be empty.
Almonda has an affable nature, friendly and zealous, yet often not disclosing it due to her shyness. Though being mostly a decent well-intentioned hobbit of the Shire, she sometimes shows an unpleasant tendency to mischief, not really meaning to offend anyone but enjoying the good laugh herself. Not very common for a Harfoot, after joining the Shire Rose Almonda has become more and more attracted by adventures, no matter what she claims in public.
