Background

Teofrid was born in a castle in Southern Ithilien - Evrethion, as the son of a ruling minor noble. Named with a Numenoran name, according to his lineage, he was destined to be a lord of his own some day. Being the oldest son, his parents' attention and especially his father's attention, was mostly focused on him in terms of preparation for stewardship, while his two brothers were not neglected - one was to lead the military of his people, while the other was to become a ranger of Ithilien.
As the man came of adult age, he was given more power and responsibility. He would judge the laws in his fief - the problems and situations of the common man - and his word was law. This made him a very firm and strong man, who has a stable and just moral compass - which in turn made him both liked and disliked among his subjects. However, he tolerated no backroom politics - and made sure that his enemies feared and obeyed him. Raiding bandit encampments, weeding out highwayman and defending his lands' borders, were all part of Teofrid's life as the soon-to-be-ruler. He would often spend time down with his soldiers and the common folk - to inspire them, and to become more approachable in the eyes of his serfs. In the same time, he would personally oversee the collection of the taxes from the peasants - with this he wished to achieve obedience from the commoners, yet he treated them well and honorably.

However peace was not to last within his family's lands - for he had many enemies in the court, believing that Teofrid was a simple and naive young man, and not capable of running and overseeing the fiefdom. As a result, commotion started brewing within the halls of Evrethion. However he and his father tried to weed out the conspirators and achieve control over the court, they were unsuccessful. In time, great doom would fall upon the ruling family. His brother would fall in a disasterous attempt of a coup - carefully planned and executed by the conspiring minor nobles. The strong man would be felled by a dagger in his back, avoiding his armour. This happened on a tax-collection day, where a lot of people gathered outside of the walls of Evrethion. The man's father would fall immediately ill - and put to rest in his chambers, away from everything that was happening. In the resulting commotion, the assailant could not be spotted, and managed to escape. In the span of an hour, Teofrid would capture a conspirator - and interrogate him to learn one name, a name he knew - Coenricc. However, luck was not on Teofrid's side, as soon the opposing faction would label him as the killer - pretending that he wanted all the power of the kingdom, and wished to usurp the control of the military to opress the people. The gulliable public would quickly overpower Teofrid's guard and he barely managed to escape the peasants' onslaught, galloping on his horse towards the woods, where he would rest and tend to his wounds for a few days. He knew what he needed to do - he needed to find Coenricc.

Coenricc was well known to Teofrid - he was a man of coins, ruled by the vice of wealth. He was the son of a noble of Rohan - a friend of his fathers', however Coenricc was always suspected by Teofrid because of his mischievous nature and behaviour. Teofrid rode across the land, asking and investigating where the man had gone. For months, he would pick up and lose his tracks - until finally, he entered the town of Bree, confident that he'd find him there. After a few days of fruitless searching, he could not find his brother's murderer. His investigation would stop abruptly, as a runner from Gondor came to him one night in the Prancing Pony bearing grave news. His father had passed away. Struck by a terrible illness due to his son's death and Teofrid's abrupt departure, he'd slowly descend into madness, and eventually the grief would drive him to the grave. Teofrid's other brother would escape the lands, relying on his ranger skills and would not be seen again. With those news in mind, Teofrid decided that he should muster up any remaining allies, loyal to him and his family, and try to retake his rightful place as the lord of Evrethion. He rode west, towards Ithilien, and after weeks of traveling, he would near his family's lands. Even though he would find the men he sook - and organized them into a fighting force, he would not be able to either siege the castle or fight his way through by other means. He finally understood that he had lost his birthright, the life he had lived for up until now, the only life he knew how to live. Disbanding his men, as not to lose any more of them, he put down his lordly crown, and left his homeland.

He then rode to Bree, to exact his revenge. And to this day, he remains there, looking and searching for the man who had destroyed his life, who took everything he had. He knew that was his new purpose - to find and deliever just revenge for the death of both his brother and father. However, Coenricc prooved to be a master at deception, and even though he hid very well, signs of his whereabouts would surface from time to time, and reach Teofrid's ears. This is the reason he stays at Bree, fishing for information on the murderer. He occasionally helps the law enforcement of the town with taking down bandits and highwaymen, similarly to how he used to hunt them down in his own lands. He still has significant wealth from his glory days, on which he is able to sustain himself. However he still puts his main mission over everything and everyone. This mission, the mission of vengeance, has become his pure goal and motivator - and he seeks nothing else until he finds the man that put an end to his life and future.
