My given name is Hammond, Tealeafe is just what most folks call me. The name came from a misunderstanding when I was young where I'd go looking in folks larders when I heard they had "the best leaf", "great leaf", "fresh leaf" etc. I didn't know they meant pipeweed leaf! People in Tuckborough learnt to add "... pipe leaf not tea leaf" to the end of the conversations and that lead to my name!
