Meetings held are always of serious concern - at least, that is which I find out during a discussion of the Shadow Hunters' attempts to trace down the Nine.
After a calm play of music, laughter, and talking, I retreated with Tanes and another of the Laiquendi Order into a corner of the Hall of Fire; There, we discussed the course of the Nine and the mysterious disturbances on Weathertop. We had ponderings, arguments, and chats, but everything came into one piece as we transcended further into our Topic - Mithrandir, the Grey Pilgrim, had been involved in this hunt.
I cooly relaxed as I shared a memory of my first (and possibly last) meeting with Mithrandir:
"The Night was cloudy, chilly. I huddled up in my cloak, looking at the stars. Surely it must not be so cold as to make me shiver?
Suddenly, I saw a great shadow looming over me, and I paused, alarmed. Who was it?
I turned around--"
Tanes was listening patiently, looking interested.
""Mithrandir?" I asked, bewildered, as I saw an old, greying man with a shining white beard and staff, cloaked in colors of grey.
"Well met I say to you again, Daerundros!" The old man said. I could just barely see his smiling face under the grey hat he wore.
"But... how..?" I said, speechless. We barely met, yet he treated me like a friend!
"Daerundros, this is no time to ponder at my appearance, but I say to you this: A great shadow is gathering. You must help your Order search in the Lone-lands. You must stand against this Shadow. You must do everything you can to ensure that the Free Peoples are safe, even those whom you look down upon in high contempt!" He said. Apparently he knew of my disdain for Bree-folk.
At that moment, I had a slight, cloudy vision. My kinsmen were on Weathertop, apparently searching for something. There was Tanes, stooping below some rocks, clawing at something unseen.
As soon as the vision disappeared, I looked up, but Mithrandir was gone. I sighed and stood looking at the Stars for a long time."
When I had finished, I excused myself from the meeting. Elrond had called me to his Library.
It was time to fulfill my duties.
"For good or for ill, I now have no choice but to embark upon this journey."
