A dangerous path

             Hard to say goodbye

She gently stroked Thaliwen's cheek with the thumb. It was a hard moment to leave her, but she knew she would be well taken care of. She had a long journey ahead. The Golden Wood. Lothlorien. Many summers had passed since the last time she was there. She smiled warmly at the thought of the sweet old lady. She still meant a lot in her life.

"Time passes quickly Sweetie, she said. I will soon be back here with you."
She put her foot in the stirrup and swung up on top of the horse.

"My brother Elleodan will soon come back. Make a nice dinner for him," she said.
She gave her youngest daughter, a smile full of love. She had trouble hiding her grief when leaving her.

"Namarie my dear Daughter, do not forget to contact your sister Amorith if you have any questions," she said.

She pushed the legs until the horse's side, so it started to gallop. Tears flowed down her cheeks. A wild anxiety came over her.  "Amorith".  She should have said goodbye to her. But to ride to Rivendell would take too long.  Amorith would understand. Her thoughts flew to her dear husband Aranthalion. He knew she went to Lorien. She told him that when he went for hunting last week
She felt sick at the thought that now they were both out on missions. The time had come for her daughters to take care of themself. She did not fear for Amorith. She had Earinlin. But Thaliwen .. so stubborn, so wild, so unlike Amorith in many ways.

Eovina thought about the relationship between her two daughters. They did not have the strongest ties. They were too different. But hopefully the journey will change it. Perhaps they would seek each other.

She had left the animals to Amorith. Her dear dog Mir,and the birds. Thaliwen was disappointed, but to leave them in her custody would have been catastrophic. She trusted more Amorith.

With all these thoughts buzzing around in her head, Eovina started with the long perilous journey to the golden wood.
