Milcroft, or Mil as his friends and family calls him was born twenty seven years ago, in a home in Elthengels, in a what one might consider as to be a normal family, mother was a tailor working for the Thane, his father a highly ranked soldier, also in the service of the Thane. So what made him end up in BRee in the first place? It all went terribly wrong one day in the town, his mother became the victim of a rapeist, once his father found his wife and found out what had happen he went berserk in his chase, he found the man who had used his wife and..well lets just say that he gave that man what he think was needed to be done, for this the Thane, who considerd Milcrofts family to be one of the most respected ones in Elthengels told them to leave the city, to leave Rohan, if not he would have to take actions. Fearing this, Milcrofts father took his wife and the mearly three year old Milcroft and left. For about six months they had lived in several different cities, growing tired on the life on the move, Milcrofts mother remembered that she had relatives in Bree and told her husband about this, and so they made they way to Bree and setteld down as simple farmers.

The years went on and Milcroft grew into be a almost identical copy of his father, tall and well build by the work at their farm and it was then, at the age of nineteen that he found love in the then one year younger woman by the name of Caithrin. The two complimented each other with their own strengths and where the other flawed, growing more and more fond and attached to Caithrin Milcroft began to think of a possible future with her.

Four years went on and the two stood together in harsh times that were, but all that was about to change. One day a messenger from Elthengels came, the Thane had not forgot about the family and had given them forgiveness for now twenty years later someone had told the Thane  what really happened that day and he asked in his letter that MIlcrofts father was needed in the forces again but now Milcrofts father had grown old, too old to be a soldier anymore so he wrote a letter back to the Thane, explaining that he sent his son Milcroft in his place. Upon hearing this Milcroft ran to farm where Caithrin lived, afraid to tell her that he had to leave, he made sure that they would have a good night together, as he was to leave the following morning.

It was with a heavy heart that Milcroft left Bree and Caithrin behind to go and aid in his fathers place, before he left he stopped by the farm again, where his love since four years back still slept good, unknown to that her own love was about to leave. He gave her father a note in where he told her about his deepest feelings for her and that he swore to be back the same day not a day more two years from then and that he then would ask her to marry him. Her father gave him a unfriendly grin and took the note, Milcroft would not know that Caithrin s father never gave her the note.

By a turn of fate, Milcroft could not return as he had promised in his note, his sword and shield had become too needed in the East Wall and the Norcrofts so he had to remain two years more than he had hoped for but he kept thinking about Caithrin,  would she still remember him, would she wait for him to return or would she thought that he jsut simply left her after that night and go on to find someone else to marry, he could only think yet along knew what happened back in Bree for all he knew for the moment was fighting. Then three weeks before the same date he had sworn to return two years earlier he was sent to the Thane who thanked Milcroft for his aid in his fathers place and that the family had done their part and where now free from any more duties towards the Thane, yet he wished for Milcroft to stay in Elthengels, to find a good woman there to marry but Milcroft thanked the Thane for his concern and his words but he had something else in mind.. To return back to his love of his youth Caithrin and so it wsa that he returned, not two years as promised by him in the note but after four years, now at the age of twenty seven.
