Outward Appearance

Lin's face, shoulders, and chest are dotted with freckles, but she doesn't seem to mind at all. Average in height, slender, and muscled she carries herself as though always on a hunt. It's just how she moves, anymore, quietly, each foot placement careful, and all without her actively concentrating on it.

She doesn't spend much time on her appearance, her hair taking the majority of the time she does have. Only ever seen intricately knotted, and never down the exact length can only be guessed at. She does, however, have a weakness for pretty things and can occasionally be seen moving through Laila's fingers hover, but never touching, the fabrics and fine garments.

Background

Originally from a poor fishing outcrop along Langstrand (Anfalas), Lin learned hunting and trapping at her father's back. She followed him, eager to listen to his stories and learn anything he was willing to teach. His only child in a world that was gradually turning more dangerous.

Ever the dutiful daughter, Lin did as she was told, but started to long for more. For better. There was a whole world out there, waiting to be explored. She wanted a taste of the adventure in the stories her father told.  It wasn't for glory, but adventure for adventure's sake. She and her friend Caradhril, often talked of going away, and it wasn't until an accident left her father unable to complete long hunts as he had once done that she took over the duties completely. He healed, and with much patience, and one of the old Auntie's advice, was able to go for short hunts, relying more on traps than he had before. This freed Morliniel for an opportunity to go further afield and earn for skins and meat. Earnings she could send back.

Caradhril, of course, joined her. The pair were often mistaken for betrothed, leaving both to roll their eyes and patiently explain that they were not. Though close, there were no romantic feelings.

When she had been youner Lin only really talked to her Pa, one or two of the old Aunties, and Caradhril. They were the ones most patient with her occasional stutter that would worsen when she was flustered for any reason. When she went out into the world and saw her first Elf, Lin could barely speak at all. They were so fancy, so pretty, and far too fine. Thankfully, that first encounter was merely in passing and no long conversations, or even short ones, were held. She still has trouble, though not so much as before, and she still finds herself in awe of their grace, beauty, and gentility.

At the Prancing Pony, which for a short while was her base of operations when she wasn't out in the world, Lin became besotted with the cat sleeping by the fire. A creature whom she spoils guiltlessly with chopped meat and treats from her ventures. It was there, too, where she met and began a friendly bantering with Creoda.
