Outward Appearance

Brasseniel stands a little taller than is most maidens' wont, and is built a little stronger, thanks to hours and days and years spent training with a sword in her hand and armour on her back; but her storm-blue eyes are large and sparkle with mischief, and her ink-black hair is thick with tumbling curls when it is not bound back in practicality.

Background

Brasseniel was born in the 2851st year of the Third Age in the heart of the Greenwood.

She and her younger sister, Nelthiel, were raised by a caring mother and an indulgent father who granted their every whim and wish.  As an officer in King Thranduil's guard, her father enchanted her with countless tales of roving through the darkened wood and cleansing it of spiders and orcs and worse, and so it had always been her dream to join him in that fight.

Her father trained her; by day, he taught her how to weild a sword and move her feet and weave between the twisting trees and vines, and by night, he taught her of honour and duty and the behavior expected of a warrior of the Greenwood.  By the time she came of age, she was accepted into the Guard with open arms.

Despite her drive and her passion for the military life, the influence of her mother and her sister kept her from disappearing entirely into her work.  Now she moves with as much grace through a crowded feasting-hall as she does through the heart of a deadly skirmish. She delights in the company of others, be they friend or stranger, and frequently goes to great lengths to engage them in conversation.

She is bold and charming and quick to laugh.  She is sometimes described as strong-willed and even demanding, a maiden who is accustomed to receiving what she wants, but she never pays such criticisms much heed.  She never hesitates to speak her mind.

She is proud of her position in the Captain's Guard.  Though she enjoys her dancing and her drinking and her mingling with the noble and the beautiful elves of Imladris, her heart ever yearns to return to the fight.

Recently she was given leave to seek out a one-time companion of hers, thought to be residing in Imladris.  Her commander encouraged her to take time to train with the warriors of the Valley and return to the Greenwood with renewed appreciation for her home.
